Tree service companies · Buyer persona

Write down who is signing the tree job: the owner, the board or the manager.

A buyer persona for a tree service company describes the person who authorises the work and what they check before they let a crew onto the property. The homeowner with a dead oak, the HOA board with a budget line and the property manager with nine sites are three different buyers. GullySales writes one persona for each job type you want more of.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For tree service companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The frightened homeowner wants to be told what is safe”

A limb over the bedroom roof makes the owner anxious, not price-minded. They want to hear whether the tree can wait, what it could hit and what you will do about the lawn. A plain answer on the first call outweighs a long list of services.

  • “The board member is protecting a decision, not buying a tree”

An HOA board member signs for other people's money and wants to explain it at the next meeting. They look for insurance papers, a written scope and a reason to choose you that survives a neighbour asking why the old company was dropped.

  • “The property manager wants one fewer thing to chase”

A manager with several sites buys tree work as a nuisance to clear. They ask who will answer when the crew is late, whether the invoice matches the quote and whether the same foreman comes back. Reliability is the product they are shopping for.

  • “The realtor and the solar installer are deciding for someone else”

An agent with a sale held up by a limb, or an installer whose survey found shade, needs the tree gone to close their own job. They remember the company that answered the text, gave a clear estimate and did not leave a mess.

What we do

What we deliver for tree service companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A homeowner persona built from your last estimates

A written profile of the owner who calls about a dying or storm-damaged tree, including what triggered the call, what they asked first and what made them hesitate over the price.

Result: Your phone script and estimate cover answer the questions owners really asked.

  2. An HOA board persona with the objections written in

A profile of who sits on the board, who handles vendors, what paperwork they request and what they must justify to residents.

Result: Your bid arrives with the documents the board will be asked for.

  3. A property manager persona by portfolio

One card for the manager of apartments, one for a commercial park and one for a managed community, since each cares about different access and timing.

Result: Outreach to a manager names their sort of site, not tree work in general.

  4. A referrer persona for realtors, roofers and installers

What an agent, an adjuster, a roofer or a solar installer needs from a tree company so they send the next job your way.

Result: You know what to hand a referrer so they trust you with their client.

  5. A sheet checked against your lost estimates

Each persona tested against the jobs you lost and the jobs you won, with the lines that did not match crossed out and rewritten.

Result: The cards describe the buyers you meet, not the buyers you imagine.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • Hours that fit your day, agreed up front

Which hours we overlap with yours is settled before any work starts, so you know when a reply is coming and when it is not.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

How many personas does a tree company need?
One for each kind of job you want more of. A company chasing HOA contracts and storm work needs at least a board persona and a homeowner persona, because the two buyers read different things and ask different questions.
Where does the information for a persona come from?
From your own records: estimates won and lost, the questions the office is asked, what past customers said while the crew was on site. We ask you and your estimators, then check each line against jobs rather than writing from guesswork.
Does the persona change by town?
It can. Permit rules, the age of the trees and the mix of owners and renters differ between neighbourhoods, and so does who signs for a managed property. Where it matters we write a separate note for the town.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
