The buyer wants a working pilot, and your page sells connectivity in general.

IoT buyers rarely ask for an IoT device. They ask for a way to know where the trucks are, whether the freezer held its temperature overnight, or when the tank is empty. They read a device page looking for their problem.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

An electronics engineer inspects circuit boards at an assembly bench

In one paragraph

IoT devices are connected hardware, such as trackers, gateways and monitoring nodes, that send readings to a server or an app. GullySales explains your devices in the language of the buyer's problem, whether that is a fleet, a cold chain or a water tank, and manages the pilot enquiry through to a deployment order.

Most pilots stall between the demonstration and the purchase order. The unit worked on the bench, the buyer's team did not log in, and nobody phoned to ask why.

Who it is for

This is written for you if IoT devices is what you make or sell.

  • Makers of GPS trackers, telematics units and fleet devices
  • Makers of monitoring nodes for cold chain, water, energy or agriculture
  • Gateway and connectivity hardware makers selling to system integrators
  • Firms that sell a device plus a dashboard or app

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A firm without a working unit it can put in a customer's hands for a trial
  • A maker who plans to sell only to consumers on marketplaces

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of IoT devices.

  1. A use case, then a device

The buyer starts from the thing they want to track or monitor, and searches in those terms.

  2. A pilot with a small number of units

A few devices go on trial. The buyer judges battery life, signal in their location and how simple the dashboard is.

  3. Connectivity and platform questions

Which network, which protocol, where the data lives, who owns it and what happens if a service ends.

  4. Integrator recommendations

Many IoT sales go through system integrators, who pick the device they have installed before.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell IoT devices.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “The pilot ended and nobody ordered”

The trial finished with no agreed success measure and no call to ask for the order.

  • “Our website talks about technology, not their problem”

Protocol lists and block diagrams mean little to an operations head who wants to cut spoilage or know where a vehicle is.

  • “Integrators pick someone else”

Without a datasheet, an integration guide and a named contact, an integrator will fall back on the device they know.

  • “Support questions kill the deal”

Buyers ask who they call when a unit goes offline. A vague answer loses the order.

The scope

The work we would propose for IoT devices.

Measured on qualified enquiries, quotation requests, follow-up on each quotation, trial orders won and repeat orders. Anything here that needs a platform, directory or tool we have not used with you is confirmed with you before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for IoT devices.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. Use-case pages

Answer the buyer's actual question before they read a spec.

  2. A pilot agreement template

Sets the success measure in advance, so the end of the trial leads to a decision.

  3. An integrator pack

Datasheet, integration guide and contact, so an integrator can specify your device.

  4. A short demonstration clip

Shows the device and dashboard working, in a form easy to send on WhatsApp.

  5. A support answer sheet

A written statement of how issues are reported and handled, ready to hand to a buyer.

How the result is measured

  • Qualified device enquiries
  • Pilots started
  • Pilots converted to orders
  • Integrator enquiries
  • Repeat and expansion orders
  • Support-related lost enquiries

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Datasheets for the devices you sell
  • Descriptions of the pilots you have run
  • The platform or dashboard you provide, with screenshots
  • A list of integrators who have used your device
  • Your warranty and support terms

Export and new regions

Selling IoT devices beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Distributors and integrators abroad

Overseas sales usually go through a distributor or an integrator who adds their own platform. Your existing export contacts are the place to begin.

  2. Radio and network approvals

Overseas markets may require approvals for wireless devices. These differ by country; the buyer and your adviser must confirm what applies.

  3. Samples and shipping

Battery-powered units can be difficult to ship. Check freight rules before promising a sample.

FAQ

Questions about selling IoT devices.

How do I sell an IoT device to businesses?
Lead with the problem it solves and offer a small pilot. Buyers decide on how the pilot goes, so agree on what success looks like before it starts.
Should we sell through integrators?
For many devices, yes. Integrators put a device into projects, but they need datasheets, integration notes and a quick answer when something fails.
Do we need an app to sell a device?
Buyers want to see the data, so you need some form of dashboard or report. Whether it is your own, a partner's or a standard platform is your decision.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
