The buyer's BOM has forty lines and your quote came back with a single price.

An assembly buyer sends a bill of materials, a Gerber set and sometimes a pick-and-place file. The first question is whether the assembler can source the parts, and the second is whether the price holds when a component goes out of stock. Many Indian assemblers quote labour only and leave sourcing to the customer.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

An electronics engineer inspects circuit boards at an assembly bench

In one paragraph

PCB assembly is the mounting and soldering of components onto printed circuit boards, by surface-mount line, through-hole work or both. GullySales presents that capability to the OEMs and product firms who need it and runs the quotation and follow-up that turns a bill of materials into a build.

That choice, turnkey or consigned, shapes who the buyer is. A start-up wants turnkey. A larger OEM with a stores team often supplies its own parts. A page that is clear on which model you offer saves both sides a week of calls.

Who it is for

This is written for you if PCB assembly is what you make or sell.

  • SMT assemblers serving OEMs with repeat builds
  • Through-hole and mixed-technology assembly shops
  • Prototype assemblers working for start-ups and R&D teams
  • Small assembly units that buy parts for customers on a turnkey basis

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A unit that cannot quote a bill of materials line by line
  • An assembler who wants only one captive customer and has no plan to find another

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of PCB assembly.

  1. Turnkey or consigned

The buyer decides who buys components. This choice drives price, lead time and risk, and the quote must state it clearly.

  2. BOM review and component alternates

A buyer notices at once if the assembler flags a part that is obsolete or suggests an equal alternate.

  3. First-article inspection

The first assembled board is inspected and approved before the lot runs. The buyer asks how this is done and what is recorded.

  4. Process certificates and traceability

OEM purchase teams ask about quality systems, lot traceability and inspection steps such as automated optical inspection. Confirm what you hold before you list it.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell PCB assembly.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “We lose the quote when a part is out of stock”

A turnkey price that moves after the order is a reason to drop a vendor. The buyer wants the assumptions in writing.

  • “Start-ups ask for ten boards and then disappear”

Small first lots are the entry point. Without follow-up, no one finds out whether the second lot is coming.

  • “We are compared on cost per placement”

When the page says nothing about inspection, rework and traceability, a rate is all the buyer has.

  • “Our reply is a price without a question”

A quote that does not ask about test requirements or volume leaves the buyer thinking you have not read the BOM.

The scope

The work we would propose for PCB assembly.

Measured on qualified enquiries, quotation requests, follow-up on each quotation, trial orders won and repeat orders. Anything here that needs a platform, directory or tool we have not used with you is confirmed with you before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for PCB assembly.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A page on your assembly process

Describes line, inspection and rework steps in plain words, so the buyer knows what happens to a board.

  2. A BOM-upload form

Collects the file the buyer is already holding.

  3. A quote template with an assumptions block

Cuts the arguments about prices that move later.

  4. A follow-up routine for first lots

A call after each first build to ask about the next lot.

  5. A target list of local product firms

Names and roles of people to approach, built from your own customers' sector.

How the result is measured

  • Qualified BOM enquiries
  • Quotations sent
  • Follow-up on each quotation
  • First lots won
  • Second lots from the same customer
  • Repeat orders

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • A description of your lines and inspection methods
  • Your standard quote and the assumptions you put in it
  • A list of customers by sector and by lot size
  • Photographs of the line and the inspection bench
  • Quality certificates you can actually show

Export and new regions

Selling PCB assembly beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Who buys assembly from India

Overseas start-ups and small OEMs look for a lower-cost assembler for early lots. Your existing export customers tell you where to look first.

  2. Component supply and customs

Turnkey buyers abroad ask how parts are sourced and shipped. State your model and let your adviser confirm the paperwork.

  3. Communication

A reply to each technical question inside the buyer's working day counts for more than a long brochure.

FAQ

Questions about selling PCB assembly.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should an assembler offer turnkey or consigned?
Offer both if you can handle both, and say so. Start-ups want turnkey; larger OEMs often supply their own parts. The page should let each find their model quickly.
How do we win OEMs rather than one-off prototype buyers?
Show process, inspection and traceability, and call after each first lot. OEMs buy a process, and prototype buyers become OEMs only if someone keeps in touch.
What should be on our assembly page?
Your models, line capabilities, inspection steps, component sourcing approach and a BOM-upload form.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
