Your panels and inverters are good, but the EPC company never calls you back.

A solar equipment maker rarely sells to the person who will use the product. The buyer is an EPC company pricing a rooftop job, an installer stocking up, a developer with a tender, or a dealer who recommends whatever is already on the shelf. Each of them wants a datasheet, a price, a delivery date and a reason to trust a name they may not know.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Renewable energy engineers inspect modules and electrical assemblies

In one paragraph

Solar and renewable energy equipment covers the panels, structures, inverters, batteries and wind parts that EPC firms, installers and project developers buy. GullySales helps makers of this equipment get found by those buyers, answer a tender or quotation request properly, follow up, and win the repeat order.

Most makers have the product and the certificates. What goes wrong is the middle: the enquiry that sits in a WhatsApp group, the quotation that goes out as a PDF and gets no call after it, the installer who bought once and drifted to a cheaper brand.

This page covers the segment as a whole. The seven pages below it go into the product itself, because a structure fabricator and a battery pack assembler are chosen in completely different ways.

Last updated 16 Oct 2026. Licence, certification, labelling and advertising rules for solar & renewable energy equipment differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if solar & renewable energy equipment is what you make or sell.

  • Panel assemblers and module makers selling to EPC firms and distributors
  • Fabricators of mounting structures who win work on price and are tired of it
  • Inverter, charge controller and electronics makers with their own brand
  • Battery pack and energy storage assemblers moving from prototype to orders
  • Makers of wind blades, towers, gearbox parts and castings for turbine builders
  • Component suppliers of junction boxes, cables, connectors and frames

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Makers who sell only to one buyer under a fixed contract and want no new customers
  • Firms that want us to certify, test or approve a product. We do none of that, and it sits with your certifying body
  • Solar installers and EPC firms looking for homeowner leads. That is a different page, linked below

How buyers choose

What decides who wins in solar & renewable energy equipment.

  1. The datasheet and the certificates come first

An EPC buyer asks for the datasheet, the test reports and the certificates before they ask for a price. If these are hard to find or out of date, the conversation ends there.

  2. The tender or the rate comparison

Larger buyers send a request for quotation to several makers and compare line by line. Smaller installers phone around and take three rates. In both cases the maker who replies first with a clear quotation is read first.

  3. Approved lists and past supply

Many project buyers work from approved vendor lists or a customer's brand preference. Whether your product qualifies for a particular list is for you and the certifying body to confirm, and the site should say clearly what you hold.

  4. Samples, factory visits and warranty talk

Buyers ask for a sample or a plant visit, and then ask who answers the phone when a unit fails in the field. The warranty terms and the service contact matter as much as the price.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell solar & renewable energy equipment.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “We get enquiries but nobody confirms the order”

The quotation goes out and then silence. Nobody records who asked, for what quantity, or when to ring back, so the lead is lost with no one noticing.

  • “Buyers say our price is higher”

When the page shows only a rate, the comparison is a rate against a rate. Warranty, test reports, service support and delivery record never reach the buyer.

  • “Our brand is unknown outside our district”

A search for your product type shows marketplace listings and big names. Your own website has a product list and a phone number, and nothing a stranger can trust.

  • “Installers buy once and never come back”

A repeat order needs a reason. Without a follow-up, a price list update or a stock message, the installer buys from whoever messaged last.

What we do

What you get for solar & renewable energy equipment.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A product page for each line, with the datasheet beside it

Replaces a catalogue PDF that nobody can search and gives a buyer the specification in the first screen.

  2. A quotation request form

Asks for the product, the quantity, the site state and the delivery date, so your first reply is a real quotation and not a list of questions.

  3. A follow-up routine for quotations

Sets a call and a message after every quotation, so none goes quiet because someone was busy.

  4. A buyer-wise enquiry record

Shows EPC firms, installers, distributors and walk-in dealers separately, with what each asked for and what became of it.

  5. A reply template set

WhatsApp and email replies for common questions on warranty, delivery and certificates, written once and used by everyone on your team.

How the result is measured

  • Qualified enquiries
  • Quotation requests
  • Follow-up on each quotation
  • Trial orders won
  • Repeat orders
  • Distributor and installer enquiries

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What the work involves for solar & renewable energy equipment

  1. 1

    Read your requirements brief

You tell us the products, the buyers and the states. We read it and talk to you before anything is scoped.

  2. 2

    Record the baseline

We note where enquiries come from today, how fast they are answered and how many quotations become orders.

  3. 3

Fix the product pages and the datasheet library

Product pages, certificates and the quotation form go first, because every other channel sends buyers to them.

  4. 4

    Set up the follow-up routine

Enquiry record, quotation follow-up and reply templates go live for your team to use.

  5. 5

    Open the channels

Search, marketplace handling and the distributor drive begin, and results are reported against the baseline.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your website link and any marketplace listings
  • The last ten quotations sent and what happened to each
  • Datasheets, test reports and certificates you hold
  • A customer list with the buyer type for each
  • Photographs of the plant, the line and finished units
  • A note on states you deliver to and the warranty you give

Export and new regions

Selling solar & renewable energy equipment beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Where overseas buyers come from

Solar and storage equipment buyers abroad are importers, project developers and distributors, often reached through a trade directory or a trade show you already attend. The first step is your own export enquiries and the buyers you have already shipped to.

  2. Documents an importer asks for

Test reports, certificates, a packing list, a warranty statement and a clear Incoterm. Which certificates a country accepts is for you and your certifying body to confirm, not for us to state.

  3. Samples, freight and payment

Modules and batteries are heavy and sometimes restricted in shipping. The page should say how samples travel, how payment is taken and which time zone your team answers in.

FAQ

Questions about selling solar & renewable energy equipment.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can you help us get on an EPC company's approved vendor list?
No. Approval is the buyer's decision, and it depends on your certificates and past supply. What we do is make your certificates, datasheets and references easy to find, and follow up with the buyer after you apply.
We sell mainly through dealers. Is this still for us?
Yes. The dealer is a buyer too, and a dealer recommends what they remember and can get answered. We would work on dealer enquiries, a dealer page, and a follow-up routine so the dealer hears from you without having to ask.
Will you make claims about efficiency or output on our pages?
Only what your own test report or datasheet says, quoted as written. We do not invent performance figures, and anything on certification or standards is checked with your certifying body before it goes live.
Do you work on government tenders?
We do not bid for you. We can make your tender documents easy to assemble, keep a record of past supply, and follow up on quotations that come out of tender enquiries.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
