Manufacturing · Machining, metal and components

Our shop cuts, bends and welds everything, and buyers cannot tell what we are good at.

Fabrication shops are asked for everything. A bracket one morning, a hundred control panel doors that afternoon, a platform for a plant next week. The owner says yes to most of it, and the website says the same: laser cutting, bending, welding, fabrication, all in one line. A buyer with a specific job cannot see that the shop has done it before.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Fabricators inspect laser-cut panels and bent metal enclosures

In one paragraph

Sheet metal and fabrication is the cutting, bending, forming and joining of metal sheet, plate and sections into parts, panels, enclosures and structures. GullySales helps fabrication shops be found for the work they want, answer a drawing or a sketch with a clear quotation, and keep the customers who reorder.

The enquiry also comes in many shapes. Some arrive as a clean drawing with a quantity. Some arrive as a photograph on WhatsApp of a damaged part. Some arrive as a purchase order from a plant that already knows the shop. The first job of marketing here is to sort these and answer each in the way that wins it.

SB Engineering, a laser cutting and sheet metal shop in Bengaluru, came to GullySales because buyers searching for its work were finding other suppliers first. The site was redesigned for the phone and the service pages were rewritten so that a buyer could see what the shop cuts and to what standard. This segment page covers the whole trade; the pages beneath it take each process on its own.

Who it is for

This is written for you if sheet metal & fabrication is what you make or sell.

  • Sheet metal shops with laser cutting, press brakes and welding under one roof
  • Fabricators making enclosures, panels, frames and machine guards for factories
  • Stainless fabricators serving food, dairy and pharma plants
  • Structural fabricators supplying sheds, platforms and supports to contractors
  • Stamping and pressing units serving automotive and electrical customers
  • Owners who want fewer one-off walk-in jobs and more repeat drawings

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A shop that wants only to sell to one nearby factory and has no spare capacity
  • A unit that cannot quote from a drawing and works only from verbal instructions
  • Anyone who expects the website to replace a visit to the workshop

How buyers choose

What decides who wins in sheet metal & fabrication.

  1. A drawing, a sketch or a sample

Buyers send what they have. A reply that asks the right question about thickness, grade and finish shows the shop understands the job; a rate by return does not.

  2. Material, thickness and grade

Mild steel, stainless steel 304 or 316, aluminium and galvanised sheet each carry different handling and finish. The buyer expects the quote to say which and who supplies it.

  3. Quotation comparison on three

A purchase team asks several shops and compares rate, delivery and what is included, such as powder coating, assembly or packing. The line items that are left out are where jobs are lost.

  4. Samples, first lots and a visit

A new supplier makes a sample, then a small first lot. For plant work the buyer often visits to see the machines and the finishing area.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell sheet metal & fabrication.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “Every enquiry is different and nothing is recorded”

Enquiries come by phone, WhatsApp and email, and the quotation lives in someone's notebook. Nobody can say which ones were won.

  • “We are asked for the cheapest rate on a drawing we have never seen”

The buyer collects rates before sharing the full drawing. Without a form that asks for the drawing, the shop prices blind and wins nothing it can make money on.

  • “Our website shows machines, not jobs”

A laser machine photograph tells a buyer nothing about enclosures, frames or panels. They want to see the thing they need.

  • “Good customers drift to the shop that rings back”

A repeat buyer sends a drawing, hears nothing for a day and sends it elsewhere. Speed of reply is judged as a measure of care.

What we do

What you get for sheet metal & fabrication.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A capability sheet by material, thickness and process

Sheet sizes cut, maximum bend length, welding methods, finishes arranged. It tells the buyer in one page whether to send the drawing.

  2. A quotation request form that asks for the drawing and the date

Collects what is needed to price the job. It ends the rate-first enquiry.

  3. A quotation template with inclusions stated

Material, cutting, bending, welding, finishing, packing and transport as separate lines. It makes your quote comparable and shows what the rival left out.

  4. A job gallery with captions that name the work

Photographs of finished enclosures, frames and parts with material and size. It is the proof a buyer checks before calling.

  5. A follow-up routine for quotations and lost jobs

Who calls, when the next call is set, and what is written afterwards. It turns silence into information.

How the result is measured

  • Qualified enquiries by source
  • Quotation requests with a drawing
  • Follow-up on each quotation
  • Trial orders won
  • Repeat orders
  • Enquiries sorted by type: panel, bracket, structure

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What the work involves for sheet metal & fabrication

  1. 1

Read the shop and its enquiries

We go through machines, materials, finishes and the last quotations, and sort the work into what you win and what you lose.

  2. 2

    Choose the work to push

We agree which types of job to bring in more of, such as panels, frames or stainless work, and which to stop chasing.

  3. 3

    Write what the shop makes

Pages, the capability sheet, the gallery and the enquiry form are produced from your own jobs and photographs.

  4. 4

    Set up the quotation routine

Replies, quotation format and follow-up are written down and given to a named person.

  5. 5

    Reach the buyers

Search, listings and direct outreach start, and each enquiry is tied to its source.

  6. 6

    Measure against the baseline

Enquiries, quotations and orders are compared with what was recorded at the start, and the work is changed where needed.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your website link and any marketplace listing
  • The last twenty quotations and what became of each
  • Machines with sheet size, bed length and tonnage
  • Photographs of finished work and the finishing area
  • Customers who reorder and what they buy
  • The work you want more of and the work you want to stop taking

Export and new regions

Selling sheet metal & fabrication beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Fabricated parts for overseas buyers

Importers and OEMs source enclosures, brackets and frames from India, often by drawing. Start with the export enquiries you already get and the buyers you already ship to.

  2. Documents and packing

Material certificates, inspection records, finish specification and export packing are asked for. Freight on bulky sheet metal work changes the quote, so it is stated early.

  3. Directories and fairs

Where fabricated parts buyers look, whether IndiaMART, Alibaba, ThomasNet or fairs, is checked against the listings you already hold.

FAQ

Questions about selling sheet metal & fabrication.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should I list every service or focus on a few?
Focus on the work you want more of, and list the rest in one line. Pages that try to cover everything are read as if the shop has no speciality. A buyer of enclosures wants to see enclosures.
My enquiries come by WhatsApp photographs. How does marketing deal with that?
By giving the sender a better way to ask. A form or WhatsApp message that asks for the drawing, material, quantity and date turns a photograph into a quotable job. Photographs still work, but you ask for the missing details in the first reply.
Can a fabrication shop get plant maintenance work through the internet?
Some, mostly through local search and by being known to the maintenance and purchase teams of nearby plants. A direct approach with a short capability sheet is often more productive than waiting for a search.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
