Luxury and premium brand retailers · Buyer journey

Know what a buyer is thinking at each step, from first desire to the second purchase.

Buyer journey mapping for a premium retailer means writing down what a buyer does between first wanting a piece and buying it, and what happens after. GullySales builds the map from your sales records and your sales team's conversations, then fixes the weakest step.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer journey means

The buyer journey is the sequence of steps a customer actually takes, from first hearing about you to deciding to buy, which is rarely a single visit or call. GullySales maps this sequence for your business and checks that something useful happens at each step instead of only at the final call.

For luxury and premium brand retailers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The journey is long and spread across channels”

A buyer sees a piece on Instagram, visits the brand's site, asks a friend and then walks in. The store sees only the last step.

  • “Different buyers need different handling”

A first-time buyer, a collector and a gift buyer ask different questions, and the store treats them alike.

  • “The journey ends at the invoice”

After the sale, the next purchase is left to chance.

What we do

What we deliver for luxury and premium brand retailers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A journey map from your own records

A written map of the steps buyers took, from the sales sheet and the team's knowledge.

Result: You see where buyers drop out.

  2. Routes for the first-time buyer, the collector and the gift buyer

Separate paths, each with its own pages, messages and viewing.

Result: Each buyer is met in the way they are buying.

  3. What to have ready at each step

A short list per stage of what the buyer asks and what the store shows.

Result: Nothing is missing at the moment of need.

  4. A check of where enquiries are lost

The points where messages go unanswered, holds lapse or viewings do not turn into purchases.

Result: You know which step to fix first.

  5. Changes tested one at a time

One fix, then measured against the baseline, then the next.

    Result: You see what worked.

How the result is measured

  • Drop-off rate by step
  • Time from first contact to sale
  • Steps with no content

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Stages of this buyer's journey

A premium buyer goes through the same stages, but the pace and the questions change with the piece and the occasion.

Notices and wants
A piece on a friend, a feed or a window. The wish begins long before any call. Be present with good photographs and a way to ask about it.
Researches and checks
They read the brand's page, reviews and a forum, and look for an authorised seller. Show who you are, where you source from and how to see the piece.
Compares sellers and models
They compare two or three stores and sometimes a marketplace. Show what a store gives that a click does not: a viewing, advice and after-sales care.
Visits or books a viewing
They ask about stock and a time. Have a person ready with the piece, a quiet space and the time to talk. Record what they liked.
Decides
Often with a partner or a family member. Offer to hold the piece for a short, stated time and send a message that can be shared.
After the sale
The buyer expects care, service and sometimes an invitation to the next arrival. Check that the piece is right, note the service date and write when something suitable arrives.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer journey work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the sales process

We walk through how a sale actually happens today, from the person who first answers an enquiry to the one who closes it.

  2. 2

    Audit the data

Website analytics, call logs and CRM records are pulled together to see where people actually drop out, not where they are assumed to.

  3. 3

    Interview buyers and staff

A handful of recent customers and the team who speak to them fill in the reasons behind the numbers.

  4. 4

    Build the map

Stages, touchpoints and drop-off points are set out in one document everyone can read the same way.

  5. 5

    Fix and measure

Each fix is implemented against the stage it addresses, and the drop-off rate at that stage is checked afterwards.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How long does a premium buyer take to decide?
From a minute to months, depending on the piece and the occasion. A gift for a wedding has a date. A first mechanical watch may take a season. Your own sales record shows the gap between first contact and purchase.
Who else is involved in the decision?
A spouse, a parent, a stylist or a friend, and for gifting an office. Messages and pictures should be made so they can be shared with that person.
What about a buyer who goes quiet?
Many are comparing or waiting for a date such as a wedding or a bonus. One polite message with a question, and a note of the answer, is worth more than several offers.
How do we find where buyers drop out?
Take a sample of recent enquiries and count how many were answered, viewed, held and bought. The biggest drop is where to start.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
