Pet product stores and brands · Buyer journey

Follow an owner from a new puppy to a bag she reorders without thinking.

The buyer journey for a pet store or brand maps what an owner does from the day a pet arrives to the day she reorders, and what the business should have ready at each stage. GullySales draws the journey from your own customers and fills the gaps.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer journey means

The buyer journey is the sequence of steps a customer actually takes, from first hearing about you to deciding to buy, which is rarely a single visit or call. GullySales maps this sequence for your business and checks that something useful happens at each step instead of only at the final call.

For pet product stores and brands

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The journey starts before she knows your name”

A new owner begins with questions from the vet, the breeder or a friend. If your shop is not part of that answer, she arrives at an app.

  • “The first bag is the only one planned for”

A shop puts effort into the first purchase and none into the second. The reorder, which is the business, is left to chance.

  • “Brands see the sale but not the buyer”

A D2C brand knows the order count on a marketplace but not who the repeat customers are or when they leave.

What we do

What we deliver for pet product stores and brands.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A journey map from your own customers

Interviews and records from a handful of regular customers, showing how each found you, what she compared and what made her return.

Result: The journey is based on real buying, not guesses.

  2. A starter set for a new owner

A food, bowl, litter or harness set, with a short note on what to buy and what to ask the vet.

Result: The first visit gives her what she needs.

  3. Answers ready at each stage

A page or a message for each question, such as which food, which size, is it genuine, and does the shop deliver.

Result: She does not need to ask elsewhere.

  4. A map of where buyers drop out

From enquiries and bills, how many asked, how many bought and how many came back, with notes on where they left.

Result: You fix the leak that matters most.

  5. A reorder step that fits her routine

A message timed to the end of a bag with a one-word reply to confirm the same order and delivery slot.

Result: Reordering is one reply for her.

  6. A brand view across channels

For D2C brands, how a buyer moves between a marketplace, the brand's page and a local dealer, with a way to bring her to the brand's own list.

Result: You know your repeat buyer, not only your order count.

How the result is measured

  • Drop-off rate by step
  • Time from first contact to sale
  • Steps with no content

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Stages of this buyer's journey

The stages a pet owner goes through, what she asks and what the shop should have ready.

A pet arrives or something changes
A new puppy, a kitten, an adopted dog or a vet's suggestion to change food. She asks the vet and friends first. Have a starter note and a vet-friendly card ready for the clinic.
She searches and shortlists
She types a brand or a need, checks the price on apps and asks in her society group. Be on the map, on WhatsApp and on the pages for your main brands.
She compares
Price, genuine stock, pack size and delivery are the points. Show them in one place, with reviews from owners nearby, and answer the genuineness question openly.
She visits or messages
She walks in or sends a photograph of a pack. Reply fast with the price, availability and a delivery option, and take the order in the same chat.
She decides and buys
A small first pack may come before a large one. Offer a trial size where the pack allows it, and record what she bought and for which pet.
After the first bag
She either reorders or drifts. Message before the bag ends, ask whether the pet is doing well on it and offer delivery. Record the date for the next one.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer journey work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the sales process

We walk through how a sale actually happens today, from the person who first answers an enquiry to the one who closes it.

  2. 2

    Audit the data

Website analytics, call logs and CRM records are pulled together to see where people actually drop out, not where they are assumed to.

  3. 3

    Interview buyers and staff

A handful of recent customers and the team who speak to them fill in the reasons behind the numbers.

  4. 4

    Build the map

Stages, touchpoints and drop-off points are set out in one document everyone can read the same way.

  5. 5

    Fix and measure

Each fix is implemented against the stage it addresses, and the drop-off rate at that stage is checked afterwards.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How long does an owner take to decide on a food?
It varies. A common food for a new puppy may be chosen in a visit, while a switch for a pet with a problem takes consultation with the vet and a trial. The journey shows where yours stall.
Who else decides besides the owner?
The vet, the breeder, a groomer, family members and neighbours in the society group all weigh in. Treat them as part of the journey and give them something to share.
What do we do about buyers who go quiet after an enquiry?
Send one useful follow-up, such as the price list or a delivery slot, and one more later. Record the outcome. A quiet buyer has often bought elsewhere, and you learn why by asking once.
Where in our own records do pet owners fall away?
Count from your own records: enquiries, orders and reorders for a product line. The biggest fall between two counts is the stage to fix. For online orders, look at where people leave the cart.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
