Solar maintenance companies · Referral marketing

Ask for the introduction when the owner is looking at a system that works again.

Referral marketing for a solar maintenance company means being the name passed on by people a rooftop owner already trusts: neighbours, society committees, electricians and installers who do not service. GullySales sets up who asks, when, how the source is recorded and how thanks is given without compromising anyone's trust.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What referral marketing means

Referral marketing is asking an existing customer to recommend you to someone they know, usually with a reward for both sides. It differs from a loyalty scheme because it brings in a new customer rather than a repeat purchase. GullySales builds the ask and the reward into a point where a customer is already satisfied.

For solar maintenance companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The best moment to ask passes unnoticed”

The owner is pleased when generation returns, and the engineer packs up and leaves without a word about neighbours. The ask comes later or never.

  • “Electricians recommend whoever stayed in touch”

They are asked about faults first, and nobody has told them what you service. They name the installer they know, who may not do maintenance at all.

  • “The referrer is never written down”

A call says someone told me, and the source goes under other. The neighbour who sent three roofs is never thanked.

What we do

What we deliver for solar maintenance companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. An ask built into the visit report

One line on the visit report and one WhatsApp message asking the pleased owner to pass your name on.

Result: The ask is made while the result is fresh.

  2. A forwardable message for neighbours

A short message with the company name, the services and how to book, written to be forwarded in a society group.

Result: The owner has something easy to send.

  3. A note for electricians and installers

A one-page note on what you service, who owns the customer afterwards and how you report back on each job they send.

Result: Partners know what to send and what happens next.

  4. A pack for society secretaries

A sample visit report and a plain AMC outline a secretary can show another committee.

Result: A satisfied committee can recommend you with something to show.

  5. Source recording

A who told you field with the referrer's name, and a log of thanks given.

Result: Every referrer is known and thanked.

  6. Rules for thanking

What you may give and what you will not, agreed in writing with any partner who sends paid work.

Result: Thanks never changes what an engineer recommends.

How the result is measured

  • Referrals received
  • Referral conversion rate
  • Cost per referred customer

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How referrals work in this trade

Where solar maintenance referrals come from, and how to prompt, record and thank each source.

Past customers on a working system
Ask when the generation graph is back to normal and the owner is looking at it. Leave a message they can forward to a neighbour, and record the neighbour's name when they call.
Society secretary or treasurer
A committee member who has read your report can recommend you to the next society. Offer to present at their meeting and note which member spoke for you.
Electricians and electrical contractors
They are asked about faults first. Give them a one-page note of what you service and a number that gets answered, and report back on each job they sent.
Installers who do not service
Agree in writing who owns the customer after the first visit and how warranty claims are handled. Without that, installers keep customers away from you.
Inverter and panel dealers
Dealers hear from owners whose equipment has failed. Leave your note at their counter and list the makes your engineers have worked on, no more than that.
What never to do
Never pay or discount only for a five-star review, add a neighbour's number to a list without asking, or pass an owner's details to a referrer without their consent.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for solar maintenance companies

  1. 1

    Assess

In the free audit call we trace last season's calls. How fast did each fault get a reply, how many quotes went out, and how many contracts renewed?

  2. 2

    Fix the fault call

A set of first-call questions, a visit report, a quote format and a record of every call, visit and quote, kept by roof.

  3. 3

    Build the pages

Pages for each fault, each buyer and each service, a plan page for the AMC and a booking form that takes a photo of the inverter display.

  4. 4

    Bring enquiries in

Local search, reviews that name the work done, seasonal advertising, and relationships with electricians, societies and installers.

  5. 5

    Renew and keep

Follow-up on every quote, a dated list of contracts due, and a message to past customers before each season.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we pay a commission to electricians who send us work?
That is your decision. Agree it in writing before the first job, pay it only on completed paid jobs, and never let it change what your engineer advises the owner. Ask your accountant how it is booked and how GST applies.
How do we know who sent whom?
Ask on the first call who told them about you and write the person's name on the roof's record. If the owner cannot remember, ask again at the visit. Check the names against your past customers when you thank people.
Is it fine to ask for a referral right after a repair?
Yes, if the system is producing again and the owner is pleased. Wait if the fault has come back. Ask once, simply, with a message they can forward. A second ask belongs after the next visit, not in the same week.
How do we get an installer who does not service to send us customers?
Give clarity before the ask: who owns the customer after the first visit, how you handle their warranty claims and how you report back. Installers hold customers back when they fear losing them. Put the terms in writing and keep to them.
Customers only want cleaning and stop after one visit. How do we sell a contract?
Price the single cleaning on its own, and sell the contract on what a cleaner cannot give: an inspection, readings at each visit and a named engineer for faults. Show a sample visit report before the owner decides. Some owners will only ever want a bucket and a hose, and that is a fair answer.
Can you get us empanelled by inverter or panel makers as a service partner?
No. Empanelment is between your company and the maker, on their terms. We make your company name, address and service areas match across your site, Google and listings, so a maker's helpline or a dealer checking you finds the same business everywhere.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
