Bakeries · Local SEO
Win the three Maps results on the streets you can actually deliver a cake to.
Local SEO for a bakery decides whether you appear in the three Maps results a customer sees when she searches for a cake shop near her, and whether that happens in the next locality as well as your own. GullySales works the catchment, the festival hours and the review flow behind that result.
A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What local SEO means
Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For bakeries
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“Distance decides the Maps result more than anything you write”
A search for a cake shop nearby is answered partly on how far the phone is standing from your counter. You can be the best bakery on the road and still not appear two localities away.
“The cake is ordered on Tuesday for Saturday”
A customer searching days before the date is not looking for whoever is open now. She is checking whether you take an order for a date, and the listing that says so in plain words gets the call.
“Festival hours are when the listing lies”
Christmas week, Diwali night and the 31st are when a bakery keeps different hours, and Maps still shows the usual ones. The customer who drove over and found the shutter down writes the review.
What we do
What we deliver for bakeries.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
Catchment worked out from where orders already come from
The three or four localities your delivery actually reaches on a Saturday morning, ranked by how many orders each already sends, so the effort goes there.
Result: You work the streets that can order, not the whole city.
Festival and late-night hours set before the week starts
Special hours entered on the Business Profile for Christmas week, Diwali, the 31st and your weekly closed day, ahead of the days themselves.
Result: Nobody drives over on a festival evening and finds the shutter down.
A profile written for the order placed days ahead
The services, the description and the notice you need for a large cake put on the Business Profile in your own words, not left to a customer to guess.
Result: The family planning Saturday's birthday knows on Tuesday that you can take it.
A routine for getting the customer's own photograph onto the listing
A message after the cake is cut asking the family to add their picture to your Maps listing, which counts for something different from the ones you upload.
Result: The listing fills up with cakes that were actually eaten.
Reviews asked for in the localities you are weakest in
The review request pointed at customers in the areas you want to rank in, asking them to name the locality and the occasion in their own sentence.
Result: Reviews start doing work in the places you are not yet found.
The repeated questions answered on the listing itself
Eggless options, the delivery charge and the minimum order posted and answered in the question section of the Business Profile.
Result: A buyer gets her answer on the listing instead of moving to the next one.
Calls, direction taps and messages traced to the listing
What the Maps result produced, counted separately from the website and read against the baseline recorded before work started.
Result: You can tell whether the listing is bringing bills or just views.
How the result is measured
- Map pack ranking
- Local search visibility
- Enquiries by locality
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
What Google weighs here
How a parent nearby finds a cake shop for Saturday, and what to fix first.
- Bakery and cake shop categories
- Set Bakery as the main category and Cake shop as the second. Add a further one only if it is true of the premises, such as a custom cake shop. A coffee or dessert category pulls different searches away.
- Eggless and flavours
- State eggless clearly, since many families search for it before a flavour. List the cakes you bake most, with sizes by kilo, in the products section. Replace a cake when it stops being made, not when someone complains.
- Your edge of the catchment
- Stand at the far edge of the area you deliver to and search cake shop near me on a phone. If you do not appear, that edge needs reviews that name the locality and a page that matches it.
- Zomato, Swiggy and Justdial
- Keep the name, hours, phone and menu on each food platform the same as Maps. Mismatched festival hours are the common fault. Check each platform's current rules for what they let you show.
- FSSAI details
- Show your FSSAI licence number where the platforms and your website ask for it, in the same form as on the certificate. A home-based bakery should state the licence it works under, not leave the field blank.
- The order button
- Set the booking link to a WhatsApp chat that opens with a short message, such as which cake and for what date. Test it on a phone. A link that opens a blank page loses the customer who was ready to order.

Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
- You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
- You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.
How it works
From your first message to the first report.
No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.
First
Free audit call
90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.
After the call
Written, scored report
Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.
Before work starts
Baseline recorded
Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.
After the baseline
The first fix goes live
Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.
As agreed
Report against the baseline
What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.
At renewal
Renew on the numbers
The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.
How the work runs for bakeries
- 1
Audit the order journey
We check how a customer finds the bakery for a specific occasion today, how fast a WhatsApp enquiry is answered, and whether past customers are ever contacted again.
- 2
Fix the local listing and the reply
The Business Profile completed with real cake photographs, and a same-day WhatsApp reply routine for order enquiries.
- 3
Build occasion pages
A page or post series for each cake occasion, with a price range and a way to place a pre-order, so the bakery appears for that specific search.
- 4
Bring in local orders
Local search, Instagram and festival-timed advertising aimed at the neighbourhood the bakery actually delivers to.
- 5
Bring customers back
A reminder ahead of a past customer's likely next occasion, sent on WhatsApp, timed to when they are already thinking about it.

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.
Marketing and sales, as one job

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.
A baseline before anything starts
Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.
The fee in writing, split three ways
Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
