Bakeries · WhatsApp marketing

Agree the design, the price and the date in one chat.

WhatsApp is where a bakery's custom orders are actually agreed, with reference pictures going one way and your own cakes going the other. GullySales sets up the business account, builds the catalogue of what you bake, and writes the replies so an evening enquiry is answered first.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily, which gets read faster than email or SMS. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For bakeries

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The order is negotiated in pictures, both ways”

A customer sends a photograph they found online and you send back the nearest cake you have actually baked, with a price beside it. A catalogue that cannot answer with a picture loses the order.

  • “Broadcasts kill a bakery list faster than anything else”

Nobody wants a daily croissant photograph. Two or three messages a year, timed to that person's own occasion or to Diwali, keeps the number worth having.

  • “Nine at night is the busiest hour for cake enquiries”

Parents message once the children are asleep. A greeting that states the price range and how much notice a custom cake needs does more at that hour than anyone typing.

What we do

What we deliver for bakeries.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. WhatsApp Business set up with a catalogue you can bake today

Cakes, hampers and daily items listed with weight, flavour and a price range, using photographs of your own work rather than stock pictures.

Result: A customer browses before messaging and arrives with a design and a budget.

  2. An away message that answers the three questions everyone asks

Price range, eggless availability and how many days' notice a custom cake needs, sent automatically outside shop hours.

Result: A nine o'clock enquiry gets an answer before anyone opens the phone.

  3. Ready replies for the design, quote and advance steps

Written responses for sending a quote, confirming a design against a reference photograph, and asking for the advance with the payment details attached.

Result: The same enquiry is handled the same way whoever picks up the phone.

  4. Consent recorded before anyone joins a list

A recorded yes at the point of order and an easy way to stop, kept against the customer's number.

Result: Your number stays out of the blocked and reported pile.

  5. A handful of occasion broadcasts instead of a weekly one

Hampers before Diwali and Christmas, the wedding-season dessert menu, and the individual birthday reminder, and nothing else.

Result: People still open your messages a year later.

  6. Chat enquiries and orders counted against the baseline

How many chats arrived, how fast they were answered and how many became a paid order, measured against the baseline taken before work started.

Result: You can see what the chat window is actually worth.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What must be in place first

Settle these before the first custom cake order is taken on chat.

The Business app on the shop number
Use the number printed on your boxes and Google profile, kept on the phone of whoever opens the shop. A cake agreed on a baker's personal phone leaves with the baker.
Consent when the advance is taken
When a customer pays an advance for a custom cake, ask whether you may send occasion reminders, and note the occasion and month. A list built only from order slips is not consent.
A catalogue of what the oven can do
List only what the kitchen can bake, with weight options and egg or eggless marked. Take items down in festival week when the kitchen is full, so a customer never orders what you cannot make.
Messages you start long after the last chat
A birthday reminder sent months after the customer last wrote is business-initiated and may need an approved template. Check WhatsApp's current business policy and pricing before planning it.
Reference pictures and branded designs
Save the customer's reference picture with the order and agree in the chat what you will not copy, such as a branded character. Say it before the advance, not at delivery.
Your food licence on the profile
If you hold an FSSAI licence, show its number on the business profile or the catalogue. Food-business display rules change, so check the current requirements with your own adviser.

Who it is for

This is written for these bakeries.

  • Neighbourhood bakeries and cake shops
  • Home-based and cloud bakeries
  • Bakery and confectionery chains
  • Bread and artisan bakeries
  • Wedding and event cake specialists
  • Bakeries supplying cafes and hotels

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for bakeries

  1. 1

    Audit the order journey

We check how a customer finds the bakery for a specific occasion today, how fast a WhatsApp enquiry is answered, and whether past customers are ever contacted again.

  2. 2

Fix the local listing and the reply

The Business Profile completed with real cake photographs, and a same-day WhatsApp reply routine for order enquiries.

  3. 3

    Build occasion pages

A page or post series for each cake occasion, with a price range and a way to place a pre-order, so the bakery appears for that specific search.

  4. 4

    Bring in local orders

Local search, Instagram and festival-timed advertising aimed at the neighbourhood the bakery actually delivers to.

  5. 5

    Bring customers back

A reminder ahead of a past customer's likely next occasion, sent on WhatsApp, timed to when they are already thinking about it.

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we use a personal number or the Business app?
The Business app, on a number the shop owns. It gives you the catalogue, the away message and labels for open orders, and it survives a staff member leaving. A personal number walks out of the door with the person.
Is it worth paying for the WhatsApp Business API?
Only once orders are beyond what one phone can handle, or you want reminders sent automatically out of your order records. Most single-shop bakeries are better served by the free Business app until then.
A customer wants to cancel a cake after paying the advance. Should the terms be in the chat?
Yes. Send the advance and cancellation terms as one message before taking money, so the chat is the record. Decide the rule beforehand, such as how much is kept once ingredients are bought, and apply it the same way every time.
Can we post the festival order cut-off on WhatsApp status?
Yes. Status reaches people who saved your number and works as a notice, not a record. Put the cut-off date on the image and repeat it in the away message, because a customer who sees neither will order late.
Do we need a website, or is Instagram and WhatsApp enough?
Many bakeries run entirely on Instagram, WhatsApp and the Business Profile. A website helps once you take pre-orders in volume or want a menu customers can browse without messaging first.
How do you handle a bakery with no fixed delivery radius?
We set the radius based on where past orders actually came from, so advertising and listings target customers you can realistically deliver to.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
