Eye clinics · Local SEO

Be the first eye clinic Maps shows to a patient who can walk to you.

Local SEO for an eye clinic is the work on Google Maps and the Business Profile that decides whether you show when someone nearby wants an eye test, new glasses or a child's check-up. GullySales sets the categories, hours and listings and keeps the clinic and its optical counter from being mixed up.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

Last updated 6 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For eye clinics

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The optical shop gets the pin and the clinic does not”

A listing set as an optical store brings glasses buyers and misses the patient who needs a doctor. The clinic and the shop need their categories kept apart.

  • “Consulting sessions listed as shop hours”

The doctor sits in the morning and again in the evening, but the listing says open all day. A patient arriving at two finds a closed room and writes a review that says so.

  • “A visiting specialist is listed as if always in the clinic”

A retina or paediatric specialist who comes on certain days appears as always there. The family books, drives over and finds nobody.

What we do

What we deliver for eye clinics.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Categories set for the clinic and the shop

An eye care category for the clinic and Optician for the shop, chosen from what Google currently offers and used only where staff are present.

Result: Each listing shows for what it really is.

  2. Sessions and visiting-doctor days

Morning and evening sessions entered as the doctor sits, with the days each visiting specialist attends written in the description.

Result: A patient sees when the doctor is actually there.

  3. Services in the words patients use

Eye test, children's check-up, dry eye assessment, contact lens fitting and diabetic eye screening listed, with no result or price promised.

Result: A person on the map can tell whether you do what they need.

  4. Doctor names as registered

Each doctor's name and qualification written as on the council register, and matched to the signboard and the website.

Result: The clinic reads the same everywhere a patient looks.

  5. Photographs of the clinic and the way in

The signboard from the road, the stairs or lift, the waiting area and the optical counter, taken in daylight.

Result: A senior patient finds the door without phoning.

  6. Directory details matched to Maps

Practo, Justdial and Sulekha checked against the Maps listing, including any number a previous owner left behind.

Result: A patient who calls from any list reaches the present desk.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What Google weighs here

How an eye clinic shows up when a family nearby needs an eye test.

Relevance: the clinic and the shop are different things
Use the doctor's category for the clinic and Optician for the shop. If they share a door, check Google's current guidelines on one listing or two, and say the difference in the description.
Distance: the address a patient walks to
Use the address on the signboard and add the landmark people use, such as the temple or the bus stop. A patient who cannot find the door walks into the next clinic.
Prominence: reviews and local mentions
Reviews that say the doctor was patient with a child support the listing for family searches. Ask after the visit, never pay, and read the platform's current rules.
Sessions, not shop hours
Enter the morning and evening sessions the way the doctor sits, and the days a visiting specialist comes. Update them before festivals, since a closed room draws one-star reviews.
Practo, Justdial and your ophthalmic society list
Claim the profiles your patients use and copy the clinic name and phone from Maps exactly. If you belong to an ophthalmic society, check that its directory entry matches too.
Questions and answers on the profile
Add the questions patients ask, such as whether children are seen and whether drops are used, and answer them yourself. Check Google's current guidelines on how questions are handled.

Who it is for

This is written for these eye clinics.

  • Single-doctor eye clinics
  • Eye clinics with an attached optical shop
  • Eye clinics that handle contact lens and dry eye care
  • Clinics with a paediatric eye focus
  • Clinics that refer cataract and retina cases
  • Small group practices of two or three eye doctors

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for eye clinics

  1. 1

    Listen to how patients return

The free audit call traces how patients arrive and how many return, and what happens after the first visit.

  2. 2

    Build a recall list

A simple record and a consented reminder.

  3. 3

    Connect the optical counter

A routine from prescription to glasses.

  4. 4

    Keep referred patients

A follow-up for patients sent for surgery.

  5. 5

    Report on visits, not activity

A report on recall visits and reviews against the baseline taken before anything changed.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Our optical shop and the clinic are in one room. Should we have one listing or two?
Check Google's current guidelines, which treat businesses with separate staff and identity as separate listings. If the two are really one, keep one listing and name both in the description. Do not add a second pin only to gain a place in the results.
A visiting retina specialist comes on Thursdays. Can he appear on the profile?
Mention him in the description, with the day and his name and qualification as registered. A listing of his own at your address is not right unless he works there in fixed hours. His own council's rules on how he may be listed still apply.
Patients search in the evening for eye doctor open now. How do we show up?
Enter the evening session accurately, and the break between sessions where the profile allows it. Google shows a clinic as open only when its hours say so, and a patient who reads closed will not telephone to check.
Can we call ourselves the best eye clinic in the description?
Avoid it. Superlatives about a medical practice can breach advertising rules, which differ by state, and the platform may reject them. Describe the services, the doctors as registered and the hours, and let the reviews speak.
Can we advertise offers on glasses and check-ups?
Rules on health advertising differ and change, and discounts on medical services may be restricted. Optical retail is treated differently from the doctor's practice. We keep the two separate and your adviser confirms what each may say.
Can we publish patient testimonials?
Medical council rules restrict testimonials for doctors, and the position differs and changes. Reviews on a listing are written by patients themselves and are different, but your adviser should confirm how to ask for them.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
