Manufacturing · Packaging Manufacturing

We sell film by the kilo, and the buyer shops by the kilo, so someone else wins on a rupee.

Film is bought by converters, pouch makers, bag makers and traders. They know what they want by type, thickness and width, and many of them buy from three suppliers on the basis of the day's rate.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Packaging manufacturers review cartons, pouches and container samples

In one paragraph

Packaging films are plastic films made for wrapping, laminating, shrinking and stretching, sold on reels by type, thickness and width. GullySales helps a film maker move from selling only on rate to being known for a particular film, and keeps converter and dealer enquiries answered.

A maker who sits in that market with nothing to show but a price list gets compared on price alone. The way out is to be the supplier a buyer calls for one particular film.

Who it is for

This is written for you if packaging films is what you make or sell.

  • Makers of BOPP, CPP, PE and shrink films
  • Stretch film and cling film manufacturers selling to warehouses and traders
  • Units making laminating and metallised films for converters
  • Film makers who sell through dealers and want direct converter accounts
  • Units with a speciality film that few others in the region make

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A film maker whose output is committed to a single converter under a standing arrangement
  • A trader who buys and resells film without making it, since the pages here are written for the maker

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of packaging films.

  1. Film type, thickness and width

The buyer sends the type, micron and width they need. A page that lists what you make and in what ranges is checked before the rate is asked.

  2. Reel quality on the machine

A converter judges film by how it runs: clarity, slip, tear, seal behaviour. A trial reel on the buyer's machine decides the order.

  3. Rate, credit and delivery

Film rates move with resin, and buyers ask for the day's rate with a payment term. A quick reply with a clear validity gets read.

  4. Dealer stock for small buyers

Smaller bag makers and packers buy from dealers who hold stock. Winning the dealer extends your reach.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell packaging films.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “They only call us for the lowest rate”

A buyer who knows you only as a price has no reason to stay when someone cuts it. They never hear what makes your film run better.

  • “The trial reel went and nobody asked how it ran”

A converter tries your film for a week. Without a call, the verdict stays with them, and it is usually that they stayed with their current supplier.

  • “Dealers stock our film but push others”

A dealer pushes what pays them best and is easiest to sell. If you never visit or ask, you do not know why.

The scope

The work we would propose for packaging films.

Measured on qualified enquiries, quotation requests, follow-up on each quotation, orders won and, where you sell through dealers or shelves, repeat orders by channel. Anything here that needs a platform, directory or tool we have not used with you is confirmed with you before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for packaging films.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A film range sheet by type, micron and width

Answers the first question before it is asked, which stops the rate-only call.

  2. A quotation template with rate validity

States the basis of the rate and how long it holds, which saves arguments over resin moves.

  3. A trial-reel record

Notes the machine, speed and result, so a converter's trial becomes a discussion and not a silence.

  4. A dealer enquiry and onboarding page

Gives a would-be dealer the terms and the steps, so recruitment does not depend on one phone call.

How the result is measured

  • Qualified converter enquiries
  • Trial reels sent and their outcome
  • Quotations followed up
  • Trial orders won
  • Repeat orders per converter
  • Dealer enquiries and dealers onboarded

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • The films you make with thickness and width ranges
  • Samples and any test results you can stand behind
  • Your current converter and dealer customers
  • The rate quotations you sent and lost recently
  • The towns where you have dealers and where you do not

Export and new regions

Selling packaging films beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Converters and traders abroad

Overseas converters and film traders buy from Indian makers. We would start from the export buyers already on your list.

  2. What an importer asks

Specification, test results, reel size, packing and an Incoterm. If the film is for food contact, supporting documents may be asked for, which your adviser confirms.

FAQ

Questions about selling packaging films.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I stop competing only on price?
Become known for a particular film, such as one that runs well on a certain machine, and put proof on the page. Buyers pay attention to a film they have seen work.
Is it worth recruiting dealers?
For stretch and bag films, often yes, because small buyers will not deal direct. Pick towns with demand and give dealers a price they can sell at.
Should the rate be on the website?
No, because it moves. Put the range, uses and a quick-quote form, and send the rate with its validity.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
