Manufacturing · Packaging Manufacturing

Our printing line is the best in the area, but the buyers who need it have never heard of us.

Flexible packaging, in the form of a pouch, is sold to a brand owner who has a product, a pack size and a launch date. They need a converter who can print the artwork, laminate the structure and deliver reels that run on their filling machine.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Packaging manufacturers review cartons, pouches and container samples

In one paragraph

Flexible packaging is the making of pouches, sachets, wrappers and rollstock from printed and laminated film. GullySales puts your printing and lamination range in front of food, consumer and agri brands and follows each quotation through to the cylinder and the first order.

Cylinder cost makes the first order heavy and the repeat order light. So the conversation is long, and it is won by a converter who stays in it.

Who it is for

This is written for you if flexible packaging is what you make or sell.

  • Converters with a rotogravure or flexo printing line and a lamination line
  • Pouch makers supplying stand-up, three-side seal and zipper packs
  • Units making sachets and rollstock for form-fill-seal machines
  • Converters who print for snack, spice, tea and agri brands and want more of them
  • Plants with spare capacity in a particular structure, such as laminated rollstock

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A converter whose capacity is booked by one or two large brands with no wish to add accounts
  • A unit that can only supply plain unprinted bags, which is closer to the film and bag pages

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of flexible packaging.

  1. Structure and barrier needs

The brand owner decides what the pack has to protect against, such as moisture or oxygen, and which film layers do that. A page that explains structures in plain words gets the buyer past the first confusion.

  2. Cylinders and artwork approval

The buyer pays for cylinders before seeing a pack. They want to know the artwork steps, who approves colour and what a proof looks like.

  3. Trial reels on the filling machine

Many orders hang on whether a trial reel runs without jamming on the brand's own machine. Asking early about the machine saves a failed trial.

  4. Minimum quantity and repeat pricing

The brand compares minimum run, cylinder reuse and the price on the second order, not just the first quotation.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell flexible packaging.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “They liked the sample but the cylinder cost stopped them”

A first quotation with a large tooling line looks heavy. Without a clear explanation that the cylinders carry over to repeat runs, the buyer walks away.

  • “The trial reel jammed and we never heard again”

A failed trial gets treated as a final answer. A follow-up that asks what went wrong and offers a second trial is rare, and wins the order.

  • “Brands are loyal to whoever printed their first pack”

Switching converters means new proofs and a risk to the brand's look. You need a reason to be considered, such as a clearly better finish on a specific structure.

The scope

The work we would propose for flexible packaging.

Measured on qualified enquiries, quotation requests, follow-up on each quotation, orders won and, where you sell through dealers or shelves, repeat orders by channel. Anything here that needs a platform, directory or tool we have not used with you is confirmed with you before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for flexible packaging.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A pouch catalogue by type, size and structure

Lets a brand owner point at the pack they imagine, which cuts the guessing in the first call.

  2. A cylinder cost explainer inside the quotation

Shows what is one-time and what carries over, which changes how the first price is read.

  3. A trial-reel follow-up checklist

Records the filling machine, speed and any faults, so a failed trial turns into a second chance.

  4. A brand prospect list for the categories you print

Names of snack, spice, tea, pulse and agri brands that use pouches, with the person who handles packaging.

  5. A printed-sample pack for outreach

Gives the sales person something to send that the buyer can feel.

How the result is measured

  • Qualified brand enquiries
  • Sample requests
  • Trial reels run and their outcome
  • Quotations followed up
  • Trial orders won
  • Repeat orders on existing cylinders

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • A list of the structures and pouch types you run
  • Finished pouch samples and good photographs of them
  • The brands you already print for, if you can name them
  • Minimum run and cylinder terms you actually offer
  • Lost quotations from the last year with the reasons, if known

Export and new regions

Selling flexible packaging beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Brands abroad that source pouches from India

Spice, snack and tea brands that pack for the Indian diaspora abroad are a likely starting point. Existing export buyers among your customers come first.

  2. Documents for food-contact packs

A buyer overseas may ask for material and migration documents when the pack touches food. What applies is for your adviser or the certifying body to confirm.

  3. Reel freight and sampling

Reels are dense and heavy in freight terms, so a quotation that states the Incoterm and a sample route spares a round of emails.

FAQ

Questions about selling flexible packaging.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I get small brands to place pouch orders with me?
Be clear about your minimum run before they ask. Many small brands cannot meet a high minimum, and a page that says what you accept stops wasted conversations on both sides.
Why do buyers ask for a trial reel before ordering?
Because their filling machine is picky. A reel that sticks or seals badly costs them a shift. Ask about the machine in the first call and write it down.
Should we publish structures and film grades on the site?
Yes, in plain words, as options. Buyers search for the pack that fits their product, so a page that explains what each structure protects against is read.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
