Manufacturing · Packaging Manufacturing

A food brand will not change its packer on a promise, only on a pack that has already worked.

A food processor has one more thing to worry about than other buyers: the pack touches what people eat. So the first thing they check is whether the material suits the food, and whether you can supply the paperwork for it.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Food Packaging product collection

In one paragraph

Food packaging is the making of containers, pouches, cartons and trays that hold food and food ingredients. GullySales helps a packaging maker reach food processors and brands, and answers their questions on material, shelf life and documents in a way a purchase head can forward.

The pack also decides how long the product keeps and how it looks on the shelf. A packer who cannot talk about both is passed over.

Who it is for

This is written for you if food packaging is what you make or sell.

  • Makers of food-grade pouches, tubs, trays and cartons
  • Converters supplying snack, bakery, dairy and sweet makers
  • Units making takeaway and cloud-kitchen packaging
  • Packaging makers who supply ingredient bags and liners to food processors
  • Makers who want to be listed with food brands, not only local sweet shops

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A unit that cannot say which of its materials are meant for food contact
  • A maker who wants to make health or shelf-life claims for the food itself, which belongs with the brand and its adviser

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of food packaging.

  1. Food-contact suitability

The processor asks whether the material is suitable for the food and what documents you hold. What applies depends on the product, and your adviser or the certifying body confirms it.

  2. Shelf life and barrier

The brand cares how long the product keeps in the pack. They ask about the barrier, the seal and how the pack was tested.

  3. Fit with the packing machine

A pouch or tray must run on the processor's machine. Samples are tried on the line before any order is placed.

  4. Look on the shelf

The brand wants print and finish that make the product look right. Artwork approval is their own team's job.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell food packaging.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “They ask for documents and we scramble”

A buyer asks for a document on material suitability and the reply takes days of searching. The processor moves on to the maker who had it ready.

  • “We sell to small sweet shops but not to branded processors”

Local trade is easy to reach. The brands with larger orders look for packaging makers through search, referral and trade shows.

  • “The trial pack failed on their line”

A pack that does not run on the machine is a lost trial. Without a record of the machine and its speed, you cannot fix it.

What we do

What you get for food packaging.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A material and use guide for food packs

States what each material is meant for, so a processor can match the pack to the product without a long call.

  2. A document checklist ready to send

Reduces reply time on supplier questions, which is often the difference between inclusion and exclusion.

  3. A trial record sheet

Notes the machine, speed and fault for each trial, which gives you something to fix and something to discuss.

  4. A processor and brand prospect list

Gives the sales person names to call, grouped by the kind of pack they use.

How the result is measured

  • Qualified processor enquiries
  • Document requests answered
  • Trials run and their outcome
  • Quotations followed up
  • Trial orders won
  • Repeat orders from the same processor

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your food-grade range and the materials in it
  • Documents you already hold for food-contact use
  • The food makers you supply now, where you may name them
  • Photographs of packs filled with product
  • Trial packs that failed and the reason, if you know it

Export and new regions

Selling food packaging beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Food exporters and importers

Indian food exporters pack for overseas buyers and often need packaging that meets the buyer's rules. They are a close market for you.

  2. Documents the destination may ask for

Overseas buyers may ask for material and migration statements. Which apply, and in what form, is for your adviser and the certifying body to confirm.

FAQ

Questions about selling food packaging.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

What should I show a food brand first?
The material list with what each is meant for, and a sample on their kind of product. Brands decide on suitability before price, so lead with that.
Can we say our packs keep food fresh longer?
Only as far as you can back it with a test, and the brand's own adviser should agree the wording. We would write about the barrier and the seal and leave claims about the food to the brand.
How do I reach branded food makers?
Through a targeted list, a trial pack and a follow-up call. Food processors seldom switch on an email, but they do try a sample from a maker who rings back.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
