Manufacturing · Packaging Manufacturing

Our crates and drums are strong enough for any plant, but the plant's buyer has a vendor list and we are not on it.

The industrial packaging buyer is a purchase officer or a stores head at a plant. They need packs that carry machine parts, castings, chemicals or finished equipment without damage, and they need them on the day a dispatch is planned.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Packaging manufacturers review cartons, pouches and container samples

In one paragraph

Industrial packaging is the making of heavy-duty containers, crates, pallets, drums, sacks and protective packs for factories that move heavy or delicate goods. GullySales helps a maker reach plant purchase teams, get onto vendor lists and follow up on each enquiry until the order is placed.

Most of the selling here is about getting registered as a vendor and staying on the shortlist. A maker who waits for the phone to ring rarely gets near the vendor list.

Who it is for

This is written for you if industrial packaging is what you make or sell.

  • Makers of wooden crates, pallets and export cases for machinery
  • Units making HDPE drums, jerry cans and industrial containers
  • Makers of woven sacks, FIBC bags and heavy-duty liners
  • Makers of foam, cushioning and custom protective inserts
  • Suppliers who sell to engineering plants and want a wider vendor base

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A maker whose whole output goes to one parent factory under a fixed arrangement
  • A unit that cannot quote custom sizes and only sells standard stock, since most plant buyers send a drawing or a part

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of industrial packaging.

  1. Vendor registration at the plant

The plant's purchase team asks for a company profile, GST details, references and a visit. Having these ready in one document gets you through the first stage faster.

  2. Load, size and protection

The buyer describes what has to go inside, its weight and how it is handled. They compare how well each maker understands that load.

  3. Samples and first-article approval

A plant tests a sample pack with the real product before a standing order. The first pack is the audition.

  4. Rate comparison and delivery on the date

Quotations are compared on price, lead time and payment terms. A late crate delays a dispatch and costs the plant, so delivery history matters.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell industrial packaging.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “We are not on the plant's vendor list”

The plant buys from known vendors. Without a registration step and someone who follows it up, you never get a first enquiry.

  • “They send a drawing and the quotation goes out late”

Custom crates need measuring and costing. A slow quotation reaches a buyer who has already ordered elsewhere.

  • “We only hear when they are in trouble”

Buyers call when an urgent dispatch needs packing. The rest of the time, nobody asks what the plant will pack next.

What we do

What you get for industrial packaging.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A vendor profile in one document

Meets the registration request in a single reply, which saves the days of chasing papers.

  2. A load-based enquiry form

Asks for the weight, dimensions, handling and destination, so the quotation is accurate on the first go.

  3. A plant prospect list by industry

Lists engineering, chemical and process plants near you and who buys packaging in each.

  4. A sample-pack trial log

Records how the sample pack performed with the real product, which becomes the argument for the standing order.

  5. A forward-order check-in routine

Gives the sales person a reason to call each plant before a dispatch crunch.

How the result is measured

  • Qualified plant enquiries
  • Vendor registrations completed
  • Quotations followed up
  • Sample packs approved
  • Trial orders won
  • Repeat orders per plant

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your company profile, GST details and any references you may name
  • Photographs of finished crates, drums or bags with real loads
  • A list of plants you already supply
  • Drawings or part details from recent enquiries
  • Your delivery record, as far as you can state it truthfully

Export and new regions

Selling industrial packaging beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Export packing for Indian machine makers

Machine and parts makers who ship overseas need export cases and protective packs. That is a nearer market than a foreign buyer.

  2. Documents and treatment for wooden packaging

Wooden packs sent abroad may need treatment and marking that differ by destination. Your adviser and the certifying body confirm what applies.

  3. Foreign importers of industrial packs

Overseas importers who buy sacks, bags and drums from India are a possible market, tested first with the export enquiries you already get.

FAQ

Questions about selling industrial packaging.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I get on a plant's vendor list?
Send a complete vendor profile to the purchase or stores head, and ask what registration they need. Then follow up. Plants add vendors when someone makes it easy, and when an existing vendor lets them down.
Should I quote custom sizes to unknown buyers?
Yes, if the enquiry has a drawing or clear dimensions and load. A form that asks for them keeps the unknown buyers who are not serious out.
Do I need a website to sell to plants?
You need a page a purchase officer can open to check you exist, see your work and find a contact. That is enough to begin with, and the vendor profile does the heavier selling.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
