Be the factory a buyer shortlists when he sends the drawing.

A purchase engineer rarely searches for a manufacturer. She searches for a part, a grade of steel or a process, such as 'laser cutting 6mm MS sheet Peenya'. From a directory, a referral or that search she shortlists a few factories, and sends the drawing to whoever answers fastest with the right questions.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Realistic editorial illustration of manufacturing companies at work in India

In one paragraph

Manufacturing marketing means being the factory a procurement team finds and trusts enough to request a quote or a plant audit. Manufacturing sales is turning that enquiry into a purchase order and a repeat account. GullySales builds search visibility, a capability page that speaks the buyer's technical language, and a follow-up process that keeps an RFQ from going cold.

A stall at one annual trade exhibition does not build a steady order book. Orders come from being found for the exact grade or size a buyer types in. From certifications and plant photographs that prove you can make it. And from answering the RFQ before a competitor does. Same day, not Monday.

Last updated 5 Oct 2026.

How buyers decide

How manufacturing companies are chosen.

The RFQ usually goes to several factories at once. The first response with a sensible clarifying question about specification or quantity, rather than a vague price, is taken more seriously.

For a new supplier relationship, quality certifications, a plant audit or video walkthrough, and references from existing customers matter more than price alone, particularly for a first order.

Repeat orders depend on delivery reliability and how quickly a quality issue or a delay is communicated. This is why buyers keep a short mental list of suppliers who do not need chasing.

The problem

What usually goes wrong for manufacturing companies.

What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.

  • “The website lists products but not proof of capability”

A buyer checking for a specific certification, production capacity or export experience cannot find it on the site, and moves to a competitor who makes this easy to verify.

  • “RFQs sit for days before a quote goes out”

A drawing or specification sent for quoting waits for a free hour, and by then the buyer has already placed the order with a factory that replied the same day.

  • “There is no shared record of enquiries across sales staff”

Enquiries arrive by email, a trade portal and phone calls to different people, tracked nowhere in common, so a repeat buyer's history is invisible to whoever picks up next.

  • “One OEM takes most of our capacity and we have no second one”

When that buyer delays a schedule or moves a part to another vendor, the shop floor goes quiet. Nobody has been building the next account while the first one kept us busy.

  • “Trade directory and website enquiries land in different places”

A quote can go out twice, at two different prices, for the same buyer, because no one checks both inboxes together.

  • “We stop following up a quote once it does not convert immediately”

An RFQ that has not converted in a few days is treated as lost, when the buyer may simply still be comparing quotes from other factories.

  • “Export buyers ask questions our team cannot answer quickly”

Shipping, packaging and documentation questions wait for whoever handled the last export order, and the enquiry cools while they are found.

What we do

What we do for manufacturing companies.

Everything included for manufacturing companies, and the result each part is there to produce.

  1. Capability pages with real numbers

Certifications, production capacity and materials handled stated clearly, replacing vague claims about quality and reliability.

Result: A buyer trusts the site enough to send a real specification.

  2. Same-day RFQ acknowledgement standard

A tracked standard for acknowledging every RFQ, from email, a trade portal or a phone call, the same day it arrives.

Result: A buyer hears back before moving to a competitor who replied faster.

  3. One CRM record across every enquiry channel

Enquiries from email, trade directories and phone calls logged into a single shared record instead of separate inboxes.

Result: A repeat buyer's history is visible to whoever picks up the enquiry next.

  4. Export enquiry response process

A prepared set of answers on shipping, packaging and documentation, ready the moment an export enquiry arrives.

Result: An overseas buyer gets a confident answer without a delay while someone is found.

  5. Quote follow-up sequence

A scheduled follow-up after a quote is sent, so an RFQ that has not converted yet is not treated as lost too soon.

Result: A buyer still comparing quotes is not forgotten before they decide.

  6. RFQ and order report against the baseline

RFQs, quotes and purchase orders reported by product category and source, checked against the baseline set before work starts.

Result: You see which product category and channel are actually producing orders.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries by source and product category
  • RFQ turnaround time
  • Quotes that became purchase orders
  • Repeat orders from existing buyers
  • Export enquiries converted
  • Tender participation and win rate

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Priority campaigns

Campaigns for what manufacturing companies most want to sell.

Each one planned around when your buyers decide, and measured against the baseline.

  • New product line launch campaign

A capability page, search visibility and an announcement to existing buyers, timed to the day the new line is ready to quote.

Result: Existing buyers and new search enquiries both find the new line the week it launches.

  • Export market entry campaign

Export pages, certification content and outreach, timed to a trade fair or an overseas buyer's annual sourcing review.

Result: An export buyer entering their sourcing window finds a factory ready to answer their questions.

  • Government and institutional tender campaign

Tenders follow a calendar. The capability documents and search visibility a portal listing needs are ready before the next cycle in your sector opens.

Result: The factory is findable and credible before a tender opens for bids.

  • Idle capacity push campaign

Pick the one category where the machines stand idle, and run search and directory visibility for that alone instead of promoting the whole catalogue evenly.

Result: Enquiries lean towards the work your floor can take this season.

  • Institutional buyer account campaign

A shortlist of large institutional or OEM accounts, each with outreach and a capability deck written for that buyer.

Result: A named target account receives a pitch built for their specific need, not a general brochure.

Beyond search

Where we reach buyers of manufacturing companies, beyond Google.

Search matters, but it is rarely the only way this industry's buyers find a supplier.

  • Trade fairs and industry exhibitions

The stall gets a capability deck, a price list and a lead capture sheet. Every card collected is followed up, with a named person and a date against each one.

  • Government and institutional tender portals

Capability documents and a portal profile that your team can reuse and update with each new tender.

  • IndiaMART, TradeIndia and GeM listings

We keep each listing's certifications, capacity and product range matched to your website, and tag every lead by portal.

  • Industry associations

A member directory listing and a one-page capability sheet for each association your segment belongs to.

  • Distributor and referral networks

A reorder reminder and a simple referral routine give an existing distributor a reason to introduce a new buyer.

Who it is for

This is written for these manufacturing companies.

  • Component and parts manufacturers
  • Industrial equipment manufacturers
  • Chemical and process manufacturers
  • Textile and garment manufacturers
  • Packaging manufacturers
  • Contract and private label manufacturers
  • Export-oriented manufacturing units
  • Manufacturers supplying government and institutional buyers

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for manufacturing companies

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at how clearly your capability page states certifications and capacity, how fast a quote currently goes out, and how enquiries are tracked across your sales staff.

  2. 2

Build the capability page and quote routine

Pages listing certifications, capacity and materials clearly, and a same-day acknowledgement routine for every RFQ that arrives.

  3. 3

Get found for the right search

Search visibility and directory presence built around the specific products and capabilities your buyers actually search for.

  4. 4

    Bring buyers in

Search, trade directories and outreach to distributors and institutional buyers for the segments you want to grow.

  5. 5

    Keep the account

A call after each quote and each dispatch, and a list of the buyers who reorder, so the sales team stops chasing one-off enquiries first.

Real clients, the work we did, and the result as it was recorded. Where no number was recorded, none is claimed.

All case studies
  • SB Engineering

    Situation
Buyers searching for laser cutting and sheet metal work in Bengaluru were finding other suppliers first, because the company did not rank for the terms its own customers type.
    What we did
    • The site redesigned for mobile
    • Search work on the buyer's terms
    • Content that shows the work
    • Social channels managed
    Result
    • Website traffic rose 60% within six months, against a target of 50%.
    • High-quality leads rose 45%, with a rise in conversion rates alongside them.
    • Fifteen target keywords moved up the rankings, five of them into the top three positions.

  • HOPO Hardware

    Situation
There was no website or online platform of any kind, so nothing showed the products, their features or their technical specifications. A dealer who wanted a specification had to ask for it every time.
    What we did
    • Website and product catalogue
    • Logo and colour palette
    • Printed stationery
    • Social accounts opened
    Result
No numbers were recorded for this engagement. The work is described in full in the case study.

United States

Working with US manufacturing companies.

If you want US buyers, know how they source: it runs through portals. A buyer filters Thomasnet or an RFQ platform by process, material and certification, then sends the same print to five shops before lunch. The shop taken seriously is the one that comes back with a question about the print rather than a number. AS9100 decides who is shown aerospace work. ITAR registration decides who may see the drawing at all.

The export-control boundary matters more than anything else here, so we state it before you sign. We write the capability pages, keep the portal profiles current and chase every quote your estimator sends out. Drawings under export control or a customer NDA stay with your own people. None of that reaches us. We record exactly where that boundary runs before any work begins.

  • Capability pages written to a print, not a brochure

Machine list with travels and tolerances, materials run every week, lot sizes, inspection equipment and the certificates you hold. A buyer deciding whether to send you a print wants to know you can hold the tolerance.

  • Controlled drawings never reach us

Export rules limit who may be shown ITAR-controlled data, so the engagement puts it out of scope in writing. Your compliance officer sets that boundary and we work outside it.

  • Thomasnet and RFQ portal profiles kept current

The profile is a filter rather than a page. Process, material, capacity, certifications and location decide whether you appear in a sourcing engineer's shortlist, and a certificate that expired last quarter quietly drops you out of it.

  • Follow-up on the quotes that went quiet

Five shops got the print and three never heard back. A note four days later asking one question about quantity or finish puts your quote back on the desk, and every quote sent is tracked to won, lost or silent.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.

Your brief

Tell us what you need, and we will read it before we call.

FAQ

Questions manufacturing companies ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need to advertise?
Most manufacturers gain more first from a faster quote and a clearer capability page. Advertising helps when one product category or export market needs pushing this quarter.
Our buyers are engineers. Will your copy be technically right?
Only if your engineers check it, so we build that step in. We draft from your drawings, machine list and test certificates. Someone on your side signs off every capability claim before it goes live.
Is IndiaMART worth paying for, or is it just price shoppers?
Both kinds of buyer are there. The listing pays when replies go out within the hour and junk enquiries are filtered by quantity and drawing. We tag every IndiaMART lead so the report shows what it actually produced.
Should we register on GeM for government buyers, and can you help with a tender?
If you sell to central government departments or PSUs, usually yes. Much of their buying runs through the Government e-Marketplace. We prepare the catalogue text, capability documents and the content a tender listing needs. Registration, bids and the tender submission stay with your team.
Do you work with export-oriented manufacturers differently?
Yes. Export pages, certification content and a response routine for overseas time zones are built for that buyer. Which product line to push first is decided with you, from enquiry volume, capacity and margin.
We hold AS9100 and want US aerospace or defence work. Is this even possible?
The marketing side is. Public capability content, portal profiles, quote follow-up and reporting are ours, while anything that counts as controlled technical data stays with your team. Your export compliance officer draws the line in the first conversation and it goes into the written engagement.
Is a paid Thomasnet listing worth it for an Indian shop?
It pays when its RFQs are answered promptly and your landed price survives freight and duty, and not otherwise. Every portal enquiry is tagged, so the report shows quotes and orders by source, with their value in rupees, against the baseline recorded before we started. If it is mostly price shoppers, the report will say that too.
Can you run outbound email to sourcing managers for us?
Yes, from your domain and with your estimator's name on it. Email rules differ by country, so your own adviser confirms the rules for each buyer's country before the first send. Lists are built from your own customer segments and public directories rather than bought databases.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and we tell you which applies to you after we have spoken. Nothing here is guaranteed.
