Manufacturing companies · Newspaper advertising

Newspaper space here hires operators and finds distributors, not RFQs.

Newspaper advertising for a factory is space in one edition on one date, and it does four jobs: hiring, statutory notices, appointing distributors and announcing an expansion. GullySales picks the district edition and the language your applicant or trader reads, meets the release deadline, and gives each insertion a contact of its own.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What newspaper advertising means

Newspaper advertising is space in a named edition of a paper on a named day, priced by the column centimetre. GullySales picks the edition and language your buyers actually read, meets the release deadline, and gives the reader somewhere to go.

For manufacturing companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “A procurement team will not find you in a newspaper”

The RFQ starts with a search, a trade portal or an existing supplier's name. Display space bought in the hope of buyer enquiries is money that belonged on your capability pages.

  • “The district edition is where your operators live”

A machine operator or an ITI diploma holder reads the edition covering the taluks your buses run to, in the language spoken on the shop floor. A capital city edition costs more and reaches people who will not commute.

  • “A distributor-wanted insertion is answered by traders”

The replies ask about territory, margin and credit terms within a minute. That number has to reach somebody who can qualify a territory, not the reception desk.

  • “A notice is published to be filed, not read”

A tender, a public notice or a name change follows the form, language and edition the rule itself names. What you need afterwards is the printed page with the date on it.

What we do

What we deliver for manufacturing companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. One purpose per insertion

Hiring, a notice, a distributor call and an expansion announcement planned separately, because each takes a different edition, section and size.

Result: No single advertisement tries to do two jobs badly.

  2. Edition and language chosen for the reader

The edition covering the taluks your workers commute from, or the towns your distributors trade in, in the language they read at home.

Result: You pay for the district you are recruiting in.

  3. Section and size compared before booking

Classified space in the appointments column set against display space, both priced per column centimetre, judged by where that reader looks.

Result: The advertisement sits on the page its reader opens.

  4. A contact used on this insertion alone

One number or email printed only here, routed to human resources for a hiring advertisement and to channel sales for a distributor call.

Result: Replies get counted and reach someone who can answer.

  5. Release schedule worked backwards

Each publication's material deadline mapped against the appearance date, so the file reaches the paper before the cut-off rather than after it.

Result: The notice appears on the date the rule requires.

  6. Published copy kept as the record

A dated copy of the page as it ran, matched to the booking and filed with the tender or notice papers it belongs to.

Result: You hold proof that the notice was published.

How the result is measured

  • Insertions published as booked
  • Enquiries traced to the print route
  • Cost per traced enquiry

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How space is bought, and checked

What a plant head and the company secretary check before a notice or vacancy goes to the paper.

Appointments column morning
Ask which morning the paper carries its appointments pages, and whether each district edition has its own column. Book the district where the plant's workers and engineers actually live.
Notice edition and language
For a tender, public notice or name change, ask your company secretary or legal adviser which papers, editions and languages the rule names. The order should match that list exactly.
What a distributor notice states
State the product line, the territory sought, the premises expected and the contact. Ask the desk to proof the territory names, since a misspelt taluk brings replies from the wrong market.
Classified or display quote
Classified is priced by line or word and display classified by column centimetre. Ask for the same text quoted both ways and choose the one that sits where your reader looks.
Box number or company name
If you do not want the plant named, ask whether the paper offers a box number, where replies come through the paper. Say in the notice how to apply and by when.
Walk-in details for operators
If you hold a walk-in interview, print the date, the place, the hour and the documents to bring. Tell the gate to expect candidates carrying the cutting.

Who it is for

This is written for these manufacturing companies.

  • Component and parts manufacturers
  • Industrial equipment manufacturers
  • Chemical and process manufacturers
  • Textile and garment manufacturers
  • Packaging manufacturers
  • Contract and private label manufacturers
  • Export-oriented manufacturing units
  • Manufacturers supplying government and institutional buyers

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the newspaper advertising work runs

  1. 1

    Fix the date first

A launch, an admission window, an opening weekend or a notice. Everything else is planned backwards from that morning.

  2. 2

    Choose edition, language and day

We match the edition to your catchment and the day to the section your buyer opens.

  3. 3

Decide size, position and the route back

Display or classified display, how many column centimetres, which page we request, and what the reader is told to call or scan.

  4. 4

    Release the artwork early

The file goes to the publication ahead of its deadline, in the format it takes, with the position request on the order.

  5. 5

    Verify what printed

We read the printed page against the booking and raise it if the ad ran small, late or in the wrong section.

  6. 6

    Count what came back

Calls, scans and form fills on the traced route, reported against what that insertion cost.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Will a newspaper advertisement bring us RFQs?
Very rarely, and it is better said now than after the invoice. Buyers search, use trade portals and ask suppliers they already work with. If the aim is enquiries, the same money does more on your capability pages and your portal listings.
Which edition do we book to hire machine operators?
The district edition covering the towns your workers already commute from, in the language they read. A capital city edition costs more and reaches candidates who will not travel two hours each way. Book the appointments column on the day that paper carries vacancies.
Does announcing an expansion in print help with buyers?
Not directly. A buyer's procurement team will not read the notice, but your district, suppliers, bankers and future workers will. Send the printed page to your key accounts as a courtesy, and keep buyer enquiries on your capability pages.
How do we word a distributor-wanted advertisement so replies are usable?
State the territory, the premises and the trade experience you expect, and say what you will not consider. A line that sets these out filters the replies before they arrive. Route the number to channel sales, who can qualify the territory.
Do we need to advertise?
Most manufacturers gain more first from a faster quote and a clearer capability page. Advertising helps when one product category or export market needs pushing this quarter.
Our buyers are engineers. Will your copy be technically right?
Only if your engineers check it, so we build that step in. We draft from your drawings, machine list and test certificates. Someone on your side signs off every capability claim before it goes live.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
