Payment and fintech companies · Email marketing

Keep settlement and KYC emails clean, and send offers from somewhere else.

Email marketing for a payment or fintech company is the mail that onboards a merchant, keeps live merchants informed and brings back those who stopped, kept apart from transactional and security notices. GullySales sets up authenticated sending, separates the streams, and keeps consent and unsubscribe records in order under India's data protection law.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What email marketing means

Email marketing is sending planned messages to a list of past and prospective customers who have agreed to hear from you. It suits offers, updates and staying in touch with someone who is not ready to buy yet. GullySales writes and schedules these emails and tracks who opens, clicks and enquires.

For payment and fintech companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Phishing makes genuine mail look suspicious”

Merchants have been warned about fake payment emails, so a real message with a shortened link and an urgent subject line is reported instead of read.

  • “Offers on the transactional stream drag it down”

Promotions sent from the address that carries settlement advices and KYC reminders can push that address into spam, and then the notice a merchant needs does not arrive.

  • “The merchant stuck in onboarding gets a newsletter”

The seller who stopped at a missing GST certificate receives the same promotion as everyone else, not a note about the one paper they need.

What we do

What we deliver for payment and fintech companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Sending domains authenticated

SPF, DKIM and DMARC set on each sending domain, with a separate subdomain for marketing so a complaint there cannot touch settlement mail.

Result: Your genuine mail passes the check a careful merchant runs.

  2. Two streams kept apart

Transactional and compliance mail on one sender, marketing on another, and a written rule that no offer enters the first.

Result: Settlement advices keep reaching the inbox.

  3. Onboarding messages by stage

Short mails triggered by the stage reached: papers missing, KYC under review, approved, first payment pending. Each says one thing and carries one link.

Result: A merchant knows the next step without ringing.

  4. Segments built from your own records

Developers, finance contacts, live merchants, lapsed merchants and partners as separate lists, each with its source and consent recorded.

Result: Each person gets mail about their own situation.

  5. A merchant update template

A plain note for product changes, fee or policy changes and planned downtime, drafted with legal and compliance and sent only to merchants it affects.

Result: A change reaches the merchant before the complaint does.

  6. Replies that reach a person

A monitored reply address and an unsubscribe that works at once, with each reply logged against the merchant record.

Result: A merchant who answers gets a human who can see their application.

How the result is measured

  • Open rate
  • Click rate
  • Enquiries from email

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What must be in place first

What a payment company sets up before its first marketing email, so notices still reach merchants.

Authenticated sending domain
Set SPF, DKIM and DMARC on the domain that sends mail. Use a separate subdomain for marketing, so a spam complaint there cannot touch KYC and settlement messages.
Consent and list source recorded
For each contact, record where they came from and what they agreed to: signup, event or partner introduction. India's data protection law expects consent you can show, so check with your counsel.
A sender merchants recognise
Send from a named person on your own domain with a real reply address. Merchants have learnt to distrust a no-reply sender asking them to click and verify.
An unsubscribe that works
Put it in every marketing mail and honour it across all lists, with the date kept. Transactional mail such as KYC and settlement stays outside it, and says so.
Segments from live records
Split developers, finance contacts, live merchants, merchants stuck in onboarding and lapsed merchants. Send each segment mail about its own situation only.
A reply path to a person
Point replies to a monitored inbox owned by a named person. A merchant who answers a mail about a stuck document should reach someone who can see the application.

Who it is for

This is written for these payment and fintech companies.

  • Payment gateways and aggregators for online sellers
  • UPI and QR providers with soundboxes and card machines for shops
  • Prepaid wallet and card issuers working with a partner bank
  • Digital lenders and buy-now-pay-later apps working with a bank or NBFC
  • B2B payment, vendor payout and payables platforms
  • Payroll, expense and corporate card tools for companies
  • Cross-border payment and remittance platforms
  • Neobanks and current account apps for startups and small businesses

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for payment and fintech companies

  1. 1

    Assess

In the free audit we trace where last quarter's live merchants came from, how many signups reached a first payment, and what a developer finds when searching for your documentation.

  2. 2

    Make trust checkable

A trust page, a rate page and policy copy your compliance head has approved, so a cautious buyer can verify you without a call.

  3. 3

Clear the path to the first live payment

Signup stages recorded, missing documents chased by a named person, and a reply routine for merchants who write in stuck.

  4. 4

    Bring in the right buyers

Documentation, comparison pages and campaigns aimed at the developers, finance heads and the accountants and agencies who choose for them.

  5. 5

    Count live merchants

Merchants live, first payments taken and enquiries by source, read against the baseline, with the channels that bring only signups cut.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we email merchants from a list we bought?
Do not. A bought list has no consent record you can show, bounces damage your sending reputation, and India's data protection law expects consent you can prove. Build from signups, events you ran and partners who introduced a contact with permission.
Is a newsletter right for us, or only personal emails to merchants?
Both, to different readers. Live merchants and developers want a short update when something changes. A merchant stuck in onboarding wants a note about their own application, written to them.
Our emails go to spam. Where do we start?
Check authentication first: SPF, DKIM and DMARC for every sending domain. Then see whether marketing and transactional mail share an address, and whether you keep mailing addresses that bounced. Fix those before changing any wording.
Can we send offers to someone who only signed up for a trial?
Send what they signed up for, such as onboarding and product notices. For offers, ask for a separate yes, put an unsubscribe in each mail and record when and how they agreed. Promotional message rules differ and change, so check with your adviser.
Can we say 'instant settlement' or 'zero fees' on the website?
Only if it is true in every case and your compliance head has approved it. A merchant who reads 'instant' and then waits on a hold feels misled, and the rules on advertising financial products change. Say what happens, when, and what is excluded, and keep the evidence for each claim.
Do we need to publish our rate card?
It is your decision, but a seller comparing providers drops the ones with no number anywhere. A page that explains what each fee covers works better than a bare table, and it stops a forwarded sheet from being the only version in circulation. Larger merchants can still agree their own terms on a call.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
