Retailers · Digital marketing

Spend the year on Maps and WhatsApp, and the bursts on the season.

Digital marketing for a shop is deciding how much goes into the Maps listing, the WhatsApp list from billing, Instagram and short advert bursts. GullySales sets what each one is for, given a market a few kilometres wide, and reports what it did to footfall.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For retailers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “New shoppers and past shoppers need different channels”

Maps brings somebody who has never heard of the shop. WhatsApp brings back the family who bought school shoes in June. Neither does the other's job.

  • “The calendar is the shop's own year”

Festivals, the sale weeks, school reopening, the wedding season and the month a new range lands. Everything between should cost very little.

  • “A shop cannot post daily and should not try”

Two posts a week showing what actually arrived beat a schedule padded with greetings and quotations nobody reads.

  • “Your competitor is a shelf, not a website”

Most lost sales go to the store on the same road that had the size. Being visible on that road matters more than a digital strategy.

What we do

What we deliver for retailers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A plan naming what each channel is for

What Maps, WhatsApp, Instagram, the website and short advert bursts are each meant to bring, and which of them the shop should stop doing.

Result: Effort stops being spread evenly over things that do nothing.

  2. A calendar built on the shop's season

Festival weeks, sale periods, school reopening and new stock arrivals, with what goes out on each channel and when.

Result: Everything is ready before the week that earns.

  3. The listing and the WhatsApp list kept as the base

A current profile and a consented list from billing, working all year so the seasonal bursts have something to build on.

Result: The shop is found and remembered without constant spend.

  4. A photography routine for new stock

Arrivals photographed the day they are unpacked, with prices and sizes noted, ready for WhatsApp and Instagram that evening.

Result: Shoppers hear about stock the week it lands.

  5. A small website carrying the practical details

Categories, brands, hours, the exchange policy and a WhatsApp link on one page your staff can send to anybody.

Result: There is somewhere to point an advert and a message.

  6. Footfall, enquiries and repeats reported

Calls, direction requests, WhatsApp reach, numbers captured and repeat purchases, set beside the figures taken before work starts.

Result: You can argue the next quarter's spend from evidence.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where to start for shops

Fix the listing and the billing counter before spending on festive offers.

The Maps listing
Correct the name, hours and festive timings, and add photographs of the shopfront and the shelves. Note the calls and direction requests the listing reports.
A number taken at billing
Ask each billing customer for a WhatsApp number and write what they bought beside it. That list is the base for every later message.
A WhatsApp catalogue
Put the items people ask for most, with prices, into the WhatsApp Business catalogue and answer enquiries from it. Tally how many catalogue enquiries end in a visit.
One festive message to past buyers
Write the Diwali or wedding-season offer and send it only to past buyers of that kind of item. Count how many came to the counter and mentioned it.
Replies to old reviews
Answer the unanswered reviews politely and fix any wrong detail they point to. Check the listing again after the next festive change of hours.
What to leave until later
Marketplace listings, frequent posting and paid reach can wait until the billing list and the listing are working.

Who it is for

This is written for these retailers.

  • Apparel and footwear stores
  • Electronics and appliance retailers
  • Grocery and kirana stores
  • Home decor and furnishing stores
  • Jewellery and gifting retailers
  • Multi-brand outlet stores

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the digital marketing work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the objective

We agree the one thing this campaign needs to achieve before choosing any channel.

  2. 2

    Audit available channels

We assess which channels are realistic to run well within the budget and timeline.

  3. 3

    Strategise the central idea

One message and offer is developed that will work across every planned channel.

  4. 4

    Implement across channels

Each channel receives its own adapted version, launched on a shared timeline.

  5. 5

    Measure as one campaign

Results from every channel are combined into a single report against the original objective.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we be on the marketplaces as well?
Sometimes, for goods that ship well and where the margin survives the commission. Many stores do better leaning on what an app cannot offer, which is trying it on and an exchange handled at the counter.
Who does this work in a shop with six staff?
One person for twenty minutes a day, on the photographs, the WhatsApp list and the replies. We set the routine and train them. A shop waiting for a marketing department never starts.
How do we know a WhatsApp offer brought someone in?
Put a simple reference in the message, such as asking for the offer by name at billing, and note it on the bill book or billing system. Count redemptions against messages sent, and the figures show which offer was worth sending.
Should we put money into Instagram ads or Google?
For a shop with a catchment a few kilometres wide, start where people are already looking: Maps and search for the product plus the area. Instagram suits showing new stock to people who follow or have bought. Try one, record footfall and calls, then decide.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
