The die shops that need hardened steel cut to a hair do not know our wire machine is ten minutes away.

Most wire EDM work is job work for other shops. A tool room has a punch, a die insert or a gauge that has to be cut after hardening, and the wire machine is full or absent. They send it to the shop they trust to cut the profile cleanly and return it with the right surface.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

In one paragraph

Wire EDM, or wire electrical discharge machining, cuts conductive material with a thin electrically charged wire, which lets a shop shape hardened tool steel to fine tolerances without cutting force. GullySales helps wire EDM shops reach the tool rooms, die makers and precision part makers who send work out, and show what the machine can and cannot cut.

Who it is for

This is written for you if wire EDM is what you make or sell.

  • Wire EDM job-work shops serving die, mould and press tool makers
  • Tool rooms that run wire machines and sell spare capacity
  • Shops cutting punches, die inserts, gauges and small precision profiles
  • Owners with a good machine and a customer list that stops at a few tool rooms

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A shop that wants to sell wire EDM as a general way to cut anything, including parts the process does not suit
  • A unit without a way to check a cut profile against the drawing

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of wire EDM.

  1. Thickness, material and profile accuracy

The buyer asks the maximum height the machine can cut, whether it cuts carbide and hardened steel, and the profile accuracy held. Straight answers are valued.

  2. The drawing as a DXF or STEP file

A profile arrives as a CAD file. A shop that converts it without a call back, and reports the offsets used, saves the buyer's engineer a step.

  3. Skim cuts and surface finish

A single rough cut leaves a surface the tool room may not accept. Buyers ask how many skim passes and what finish results, and whether the cost changes.

  4. Rate by cutting length or by hour

Wire EDM is often priced by the machine hour or by cut length. The quote that explains which, and why, is easier to compare.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell wire EDM.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “Our machine runs well and we have no spare customers”

The wire machine is cheap to run overnight, but there is not enough work to justify running it. The waiting is on enquiries, not capacity.

  • “Buyers treat us as a pair of hands”

They send a file, expect a price by phone and compare rates between several shops. Cut quality and care are never part of the talk.

  • “We lose the repeat customer to a closer shop”

Tool rooms like a wire cutter in walking distance. A rival with a machine near them will win the regular work unless you offer pick-up and drop.

What we do

What you get for wire EDM.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A wire EDM capability card

Machine make, cut height, materials, accuracy, skim options and file formats, in a form that tool rooms can keep on a noticeboard.

  2. A sample cut with surface photographs

A profile cut on a test piece with magnified edge views. It shows the finish that words do not.

  3. A quotation that states rate basis and passes

Whether the rate is by hour or length, how many skim passes, and the finish expected. It makes your price comparable.

  4. A nearby tool room map and call list

Shops within a short drive, grouped by the kind of tooling they make. It keeps outreach to the people who can use you.

  5. A file-handling note

Accepted CAD formats, what is checked before cutting and how offsets are agreed. It lets a buyer send a file with confidence.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries with a CAD file attached
  • Quotation requests
  • Follow-up on each quotation
  • New tool rooms sending work
  • Repeat orders
  • Lapsed customers recovered

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Wire machine make, model and maximum work size
  • Materials cut and the thickest you have done
  • A few cut samples you can photograph
  • Tool rooms and press shops that already send you work
  • Rates you charge and how you quote them
  • Any customers who left and where they went

Export and new regions

Selling wire EDM beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Wire cut parts for overseas buyers

Overseas tool makers and precision part buyers sometimes source cut profiles from India. Your existing export enquiries show whether the demand is there.

  2. Sending files and samples

Files travel easily, and small cut parts go by courier. The inspection report and material details accompany the first sample.

  3. Time zones and trust

A new overseas buyer needs clear replies in their working hours and a sample cut before a larger lot.

FAQ

Questions about selling wire EDM.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Is wire EDM only useful for tool rooms?
Mostly, but not only. Precision part makers, gauge makers and some medical and instrument manufacturers use it too. The page should name those users, so they recognise themselves.
How do I compete with a tool room that has its own wire machine?
On the days that machine is busy. A tool room with its own machine still sends overflow and difficult profiles out. A reliable pick-up and return makes you the first call at those times.
Can I claim a tolerance on the website?
Only the one you can measure and repeat. A wrong claim costs you the customer when a sample fails. State the accuracy your machine and inspection really give.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
