Manufacturing · Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Our molecule is good, but the formulator has never seen our plant.

An API buyer is a formulation company or a trader supplying one. They are choosing a source for an ingredient that goes into a finished product, so they take their time and want the paperwork first.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Chemical quality specialists examine sealed samples in a plant laboratory

In one paragraph

Active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing is the making of the active substance that formulators turn into finished medicines. GullySales builds the product pages, the technical document pack and the buyer follow-up that suit a business sold on quality records, sampling and long supplier approval.

The first contact is usually a search or a directory enquiry for a named molecule. What follows is a long exchange of documents and questions, and the supplier who answers cleanly stays in the running.

Last updated 16 Oct 2026. Licence, certification, labelling and advertising rules for pharmaceutical manufacturing differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if API manufacturing is what you make or sell.

  • Makers of active ingredients for domestic formulators
  • Producers who also supply intermediates
  • Units exporting actives to overseas formulators and importers
  • Manufacturers with a range of molecules but a thin buyer list

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A unit that cannot supply technical documents when a buyer asks
  • A business expecting us to state approvals, filings or regulatory status that it has not confirmed with its adviser

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of API manufacturing.

  1. Search by molecule name

The buyer types the substance name, sometimes the grade or pharmacopoeia reference. If your page does not list the molecule, you are not found.

  2. Document exchange before a sample

The buyer asks for a specification, certificate of analysis and master-file details where applicable. What you can supply and share is decided with your adviser.

  3. Supplier qualification

The formulator's quality team may audit the plant and approve the source before purchase. This takes time and cannot be hurried by marketing.

  4. Consistency and supply reliability

A formulator cannot afford a gap in supply. Capacity, batch size and lead time are discussed openly.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell API manufacturing.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “Our molecule list is on a PDF nobody can search”

A catalogue in a PDF is invisible to search. Each molecule needs its own page with name, grade and uses.

  • “Directory enquiries come in with one line”

Without a reply that asks for quantity, grade and the buyer's company, you answer every one the same and learn nothing.

  • “A buyer qualified us and then went quiet”

After audits and samples, the first order is slow to arrive. Without a person keeping contact, someone else gets it.

The scope

The work we would propose for API manufacturing.

Measured on qualified enquiries, quotation requests, follow-up on each quotation, trial orders won and repeat orders. Anything here that needs a platform, directory or tool we have not used with you is confirmed with you before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for API manufacturing.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. Molecule pages

A buyer typing the substance name finds a page that lists what you supply.

  2. A buyer document pack

Reduces the reply to a document request from an effort into a message.

  3. A qualification tracker

Shows where each prospective buyer is between sample, audit and order, so nobody falls out of sight.

  4. An enquiry reply script

Asks for quantity, grade, the buyer's company and use, so a serious enquiry is separated from a collector.

How the result is measured

  • Qualified enquiries by molecule
  • Document packs sent
  • Samples and audits requested
  • Trial orders won
  • Repeat orders
  • Export enquiries answered

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • The molecule list with grade and packing
  • Specifications and certificate templates you share
  • Your current directory listings and enquiry volume
  • Existing domestic and export buyers
  • Any regulatory or audit documents you are permitted to show

Export and new regions

Selling API manufacturing beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Overseas formulators and agents

Actives are sold to formulators and through local agents. We begin with the export buyers and enquiries you already have.

  2. Registration and dossier questions

Importers may ask for filings made in their country. What exists and what you can share is decided by you and your regulatory adviser.

FAQ

Questions about selling API manufacturing.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should my website list every molecule?
Yes, one page each for those you actively supply. A buyer searching a molecule name needs a page to land on.
Can you mention that my plant is approved by a regulator?
Only the approvals you hold, in wording your adviser accepts. We do not state or imply any we have not seen confirmed.
Why do directory enquiries rarely convert?
Most are short and untargeted. A fast reply that asks for quantity and purpose sorts them, and the rest are kept warm.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
