Optical businesses · Digital marketing

Spend on the eye test and the return visit, not on fighting the chains.

Digital marketing for an optical shop is choosing the few things that bring a person through the door and back again two years later. GullySales puts the Maps listing, the WhatsApp catalogue and the renewal reminder ahead of everything else, and reports tests and frame sales rather than reach.

A steam traction engine belted across a stackyard to a wooden threshing machine: the long flat belt taut between the flywheel and the drive pulley, the flywheel spinning, a straw elevator raking up off the far end, a full sack hanging on the sack spout, a corn stack half taken down behind and a water cart standing by

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For optical businesses

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • Two numbers run this shop

How many tests became a purchase, and how many customers came back at the next prescription. Everything else is decoration.

  • The chains are not your rival for the test

You compete with the shop on the next street for the eye test, and with the internet only for the frame. The plan should reflect that split.

  • A web shop is a trap for a single counter

Matching a national retailer on price, delivery and returns is a business you are not set up to run. Say no and spend the money on the reminder list.

  • Your customer's cycle is longer than a budget year

A prescription lasts a couple of years, so the record of who bought what and when is worth more than any campaign.

What we do

What we deliver for optical businesses.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A plan built on tests, conversion and return visits

Three numbers agreed at the start, with each activity judged on which of them it is supposed to move.

Result: Every spend has a number attached to it.

  2. Maps and WhatsApp put first

The Business Profile and a frame catalogue on WhatsApp set up properly before any advertising money is committed.

Result: The two channels your customers already use are working.

  3. A customer record with power and purchase dates

Name, number, last prescription, date of purchase and what was bought, in one place rather than in a billing book.

Result: You can reach the right customers when a reminder is due.

  4. A camp calendar for schools and offices

Which schools and companies to approach, in which months, with the outreach and the follow-up owner set for each.

Result: Camps stop being something that happens by chance.

  5. A written stop list

The activities that have produced nothing, named and closed, including any that were bought before we started.

Result: Money comes back from places that never worked.

  6. A review at the end of the term

A written look at what to keep and what to drop, timed to the end of the engagement rather than left running.

Result: The plan changes on evidence rather than habit.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first monthly report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

45 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · Within a few working days

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope and fee come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · Every month

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words.

  6. 06 · Month 3 to 6

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. No twelve-month lock.

How the work runs for optical businesses

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at your Google Business Profile, your review count, whether prescription renewals are tracked, and how the frame range is presented in store and online.

  2. 2

    Fix visibility

A completed, accurate profile and a simple routine for asking satisfied customers for a review.

  3. 3

    Build trust

The optometrist's credentials shown clearly, and real customer reviews replacing an empty or outdated profile.

  4. 4

    Bring customers in

Local search, outreach for school and corporate eye check-up camps, and WhatsApp for booking a test.

  5. 5

    Retain

Prescription renewal reminders, a check-up reminder for children, and a loyalty routine for repeat frame purchases.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every monthly report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No lock-in, no guarantees we cannot keep

Three to six months at a time. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Should we sell frames online?
Rarely worth it for a single shop. You would be competing on delivery and returns against businesses built for it. Use WhatsApp to show stock and book a try-on, which gets you the fitting and the lens work.
We have very little to spend. What comes first?
The Business Profile, the reviews and the renewal reminders, because those cost time rather than media money. The free audit counts how many of last year's tests became purchases before anything is bought.
How do we compete with online glasses retailers?
On the eye test, the in-person fitting and the optometrist's recommendation, which an online retailer cannot offer. We help you make that visible.
Should we keep offering a free eye test?
Usually yes, but not as a giveaway with no next step. Hand over the prescription with a frame try-on booked for the same visit, and record the number for a reminder. A test that ends at the door is the one that walks to an online retailer.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
Three to six months at a time. There is no twelve-month lock, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 45 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the monthly review.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Every month is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. Terms run three to six months at a time, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
