Pharmacies · Pay per click advertising

Find out what the platform allows before you spend a rupee.

Advertising platforms treat pharmacies as a restricted category and ask for proof before an ad runs, and the drug rules decide what that ad may say. GullySales establishes what is permitted for your licence, then runs a small radius campaign about hours, delivery and the categories you may promote.

What pay per click advertising means

Pay per click advertising (PPC) is paying a fee each time someone clicks your advert on Google or another platform. It puts you at the top of a search page immediately, instead of waiting for ranking to build. GullySales sets the targeting, writes the ad text and checks spend daily against enquiries received.

For pharmacies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • The platform asks before the regulator does

Advertising systems restrict this category and want documents first. An account set up without that step gets stopped, usually after the money has gone.

  • Your market is two or three kilometres wide

A chemist five kilometres away is somebody else's chemist. Budget spent outside walking and delivery distance is spent on nothing at all.

  • The hours nobody schedules are the ones worth buying

Between nine at night and midnight the competition thins and the intent is at its highest. Most accounts are switched off by then.

  • The keywords you would want are the ones to exclude

Medicine names and condition searches are the obvious targets. They are also the shortest route into an advertising restriction your licence carries.

What we do

What we deliver for pharmacies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A check of what the platform permits

Which documents and certifications your licence category needs before an ad can run, established and kept on file before any budget is agreed.

Result: The account does not get stopped a week in.

  2. A small radius campaign about the service

Hours, home delivery and ordering on WhatsApp, targeted to the roads and apartment blocks around the shop rather than to the city.

Result: The ad reaches people who can reach you.

  3. Campaigns for the categories you may promote

Home health devices, baby care and surgical supplies advertised as products, kept completely apart from anything prescription.

Result: The non-prescription counter gets demand of its own.

  4. Call ads scheduled for the late evening

Ads running when your shop is open and others are not, pointing at a phone that is answered rather than a page nobody reads at midnight.

Result: The late-night caller reaches you first.

  5. A negative list covering medicines and conditions

Medicine names, disease terms, treatment queries and job searches excluded, and added to weekly from the search report.

Result: The account stays on the right side of the line.

  6. A monthly count of orders per rupee spent

Calls, chat orders and deliveries traced back to the ads, set against the order figures recorded before the work started.

Result: You can stop the spend that brought nothing.

How the result is measured

  • Cost per click
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries from paid search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.

Who it is for

This is written for these pharmacies.

  • Independent neighbourhood chemists
  • Pharmacies attached to a clinic or nursing home
  • Hospital pharmacies serving outpatients
  • Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras and generic medicine stores
  • Multi-outlet local pharmacy chains
  • Franchise outlets of national pharmacy brands
  • Surgical and medical equipment stores
  • Pharmacies stocking Ayurvedic and homoeopathic medicines
  • Twenty-four hour and late-night pharmacies

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first monthly report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

45 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · Within a few working days

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope and fee come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · Every month

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words.

  6. 06 · Month 3 to 6

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. No twelve-month lock.

How the work runs for pharmacies

  1. 1

    Assess

We check your listing hours and reviews, how quickly WhatsApp orders are answered, how many regular customers bought last quarter but not this one, and what your current promotions say.

  2. 2

Fix the counter and the phone

A WhatsApp prescription routine with a reply time the staff can keep, a delivery slot promise, and a stock check before confirming.

  3. 3

    Know the regulars

A register of monthly customers from the billing data, with their refill dates and consent to be reminded, kept private and separate from marketing lists.

  4. 4

    Promote what the law allows

Local search, the pharmacist's service, delivery and devices, wellness and baby care, with prescription medicines kept out of any advertising.

  5. 5

    Keep them from switching

Refill reminders before the month's stock runs out, a check-in when a regular stops buying, and a reason to stay that is service, not only price.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can a chemist run search ads at all?
Within what the platform allows for your licence category and what the drug rules let you say. Advertising the shop, its hours and its delivery is a different thing from advertising a medicine. Confirm the current position with your association before you begin.
Is advertising worth it when our customers live on the same road?
Frequently it is not, and the audit will say so. A correct listing and an answered phone do more for a single shop. Advertising earns its place where you deliver across several blocks or stay open late.
Can a pharmacy advertise medicines?
Not prescription medicines. Under the Drugs and Cosmetics rules, Schedule H, H1 and X drugs are sold only against a prescription and should not be promoted to the public. The Drugs and Magic Remedies Act forbids any advertisement claiming a medicine treats listed conditions. We promote your service, delivery, devices and general range instead.
Can we offer discounts to match online pharmacies?
That is a business decision for you, and chemist associations and some state drug controllers have taken strong positions on it. We do not build campaigns around discounts on prescription medicines. We compete on delivery, reliability and the pharmacist's advice, which the apps find harder to match.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
Three to six months at a time. There is no twelve-month lock, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 45 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the monthly review.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Every month is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. Terms run three to six months at a time, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
