Employer branding · Manufacturing

Your plant is forty kilometres past the last bus stop, and the job post never says so.

For a cement, tile or block plant, employer branding is mostly about answering where a candidate will live, how the shift runs, and whether the company name will still be worth something on a CV in five years. GullySales writes the careers page, the plant job posts and the depot sales posts from what your own people say.

A colliery lamp room seen from the counter: the roller shutter half up over a deep hatch, rows of cap lamps and their batteries hanging on hooks in the recess behind it, a rack of self-rescuers on the wall above, and a check-board of pegs beside the hatch with a single brass tally hanging on it where a lamp has gone out

In one paragraph

Where this sits

For building material manufacturers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • The first question is where I will live

Plants sit near the quarry, not near a town. A candidate from Hubballi weighing your job wants to know about quarters, the bus at shift change and whether the family can come. Silence on that point reads as a no.

  • A quality chemist and a territory sales officer are not the same hire

The lab wants to know which tests are run in-house and on what equipment. The sales officer wants to know how many dealer counters they cover and who settles the fuel bill.

  • Candidates compare your name with the two national brands

A territory sales officer takes the job partly for what the name does to their next interview. If your bags are known inside three districts, say what they will learn here that a bigger company would not let them near.

  • Dust, heat and shifts are not secrets

Everyone in the trade knows what a packing plant is like in May. A careers page showing a clean office and a stock photograph tells a candidate you are hiding the rest.

What we do

What we deliver for building material manufacturers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A careers page written for the plant, not the head office

Where each unit is, the nearest town, how people travel in, what the canteen and quarters are, which shifts run. The facts you would give on the phone anyway.

Result: A candidate from the district applies knowing the commute and does not drop out after the site visit.

  2. Job posts for the roles you keep refilling

Shift supervisor, packing plant operator, quality chemist, electrical maintenance, territory sales officer for the dealer counters. Each names the equipment and the reporting line.

Result: The same post goes up every time a seat opens, instead of being rewritten badly at nine at night.

  3. Employee stories from the unit itself

Interviews with a long-serving shift supervisor and an operator who joined this season. We ask why they stayed and print what makes the place bearable, not what makes it sound perfect.

Result: Something on the page a plant person recognises as true.

  4. Your dealer network as a hiring channel

Depot and dealer staff meet the people you want to hire. A short brief and a message they can pass on turns distribution into a source of applicants.

Result: Applications from towns where you have no recruiter and no office.

  5. The gap between offer and joining

In those three weeks a plant candidate takes the other offer, usually because nothing reached them. We map what your process does in that window and write what should be sent instead.

Result: Fewer offers accepted and then quietly abandoned.

How the result is measured

  • Applications received per open role
  • Careers page engagement and time on page
  • Candidate drop-off during the interview process
  • Referral hires as a share of total hires

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.

How it works

From your first message to the first monthly report.

No open-ended retainer. Each step has a point in time and something you receive.

  1. 01 · Day 1

    Free audit call

45 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · Within a few working days

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope and fee come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later month has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · Month 1

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · Every month

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words.

  6. 06 · Month 3 to 6

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. No twelve-month lock.

How the work runs for building material manufacturers

  1. 1

    Talk to current employees

We interview a cross-section of staff honestly, including some who might raise uncomfortable points.

  2. 2

Find the genuine reasons to join

We identify what is actually true and attractive about working there, rather than generic claims that could apply anywhere.

  3. 3

    Build the careers content

The careers page, job post templates and employee stories are written from what staff actually said.

  4. 4

    Review the candidate experience

We check what happens between application and offer, since branding cannot fix a process that loses candidates through delay.

  5. 5

    Hand over and refresh periodically

Content is handed over for ongoing use and revisited periodically as the team and roles change.

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No lock-in, no guarantees we cannot keep

Three to six months at a time. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do you handle recruitment for the plant?
No. We do not source candidates, run interviews or touch payroll and contractor arrangements. Our part is the careers page, the job posts and the employee stories behind them, plus a written view of where your hiring leaks.
The plant is remote and we cannot change that. Is this worth doing?
Only partly, and you should know that before spending. No careers page makes a two-hour commute shorter. What it does is stop you paying for applications from people who were never going to move, and start reaching people in the districts around the unit who would. If quarters and transport are still unfixed, fix those first.
Which numbers would we see?
Applications per open role at each unit, how many came from the surrounding district, how many reached interview, how many joined. All four are recorded before we change anything and reported against that baseline every month.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
Three to six months at a time. There is no twelve-month lock, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 45 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the monthly review.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Every month is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. Terms run three to six months at a time, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
