Colleges and universities · Content marketing

Answer the questions a family argues over at dinner before it picks a course.

Content marketing for a college is writing and recording answers to what applicants and parents ask before they apply: which course, which route in, what it costs, what comes after. GullySales works with your faculty and placement cell to turn what they know into pages, videos and guides a family can use, without overclaiming.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What content marketing means

Content marketing is writing articles, guides and pages that answer the questions buyers search before they are ready to enquire. This makes your business visible and trusted before the first call. GullySales plans this content from the free audit onward, choosing topics that match real search demand rather than guesses.

For colleges and universities

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Faculty know the answers and never write them down”

A head of department explains the difference between two branches on the phone over and over each June. That explanation, recorded once, does more than any brochure.

  • “Course-choice content beats college-praise content”

A guide to choosing between B.Com and BBA helps a student who has not decided yet. A page about excellent infrastructure helps nobody.

  • “Career outcomes need care”

Students want to know what graduates do. Describing roles your alumni hold, with their consent, is honest. Promising a career or a salary is not, and may break the advertising rules your regulators apply.

What we do

What we deliver for colleges and universities.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A question list from the admissions phone

The questions counsellors heard most last season, grouped by programme and by stage, from first enquiry to fee payment.

Result: The content plan starts from what families really asked.

  2. Course-choice guides written with faculty

Plain explanations of how two similar programmes differ, what each teaches in the first year and the kind of student each suits.

Result: An undecided student finds you while still deciding.

  3. Admission process explainers

How counselling, option entry, seat allotment and fee payment work for each entrance exam you accept, linked to the official sources.

Result: Families confused by the process trust the college that explained it.

  4. Alumni stories with consent

Short written or recorded accounts of what former students do now, approved by them, with no salary figures unless they agree.

Result: Applicants see real careers rather than slogans.

  5. Parent pages in the regional language

Fee, hostel and admission explainers for parents in the language of your catchment as well as English, checked by staff who speak it.

Result: A parent who reads Kannada or Marathi gets the answer in it.

How the result is measured

  • Pages published
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from content pages

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Questions applicants ask first

The questions applicants and parents ask, from first doubt to fee payment, and the piece that answers each.

Which course should I take after Class 12 science or commerce?
A course-choice guide comparing the programmes you offer for that stream and what graduates go on to do. Written by faculty, with no claims about jobs.
Will my rank or percentage get me in?
A page explaining your admission routes and linking to official cut-off lists from past rounds. Never predict a seat; tell the student which round to watch.
What does it cost in total, with hostel?
A fee page by programme listing every head, plus the scholarships open this year and how education loans are processed with banks.
Is the hostel safe for my daughter?
A hostel page and a short video showing entry rules, wardens, timings, the mess and medical arrangements. Parents from other states read this before the course page.
What do your graduates actually do?
Alumni stories and a placement page built from the placement cell's records, with the year and the number placed. Let the facts carry it, with no adjectives.
What happens in the first week?
A joining guide covering documents, fee receipts, hostel check-in, orientation and any bridge course. It answers the nerves that make some admitted students think of withdrawing.

Who it is for

This is written for these colleges and universities.

  • Private engineering colleges admitting through state CET and JEE Main
  • Arts, science and commerce degree colleges
  • Business schools and PGDM institutes
  • Nursing, pharmacy and allied health colleges
  • Law colleges with five-year integrated programmes
  • Private universities and deemed-to-be universities
  • Autonomous colleges affiliated to a state university
  • Design, architecture and media colleges

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for colleges and universities

  1. 1

    Audit the last admission cycle

We trace where last year's applicants came from, how fast the office replied during counselling, how many visited and how many paid, using your admission register and portal exports.

  2. 2

Fix the record and the reply

One enquiry record for every source, a fee sheet every counsellor uses, and saved WhatsApp replies for hostel, fees and documents.

  3. 3

Rebuild the programme and placement pages

A page per programme with eligibility, fees and approvals, and a placement page built from the placement cell's records.

  4. 4

    Bring applicants in before results

Search, portals, school outreach and social channels set up ahead of each programme's result dates, with budget moved towards whatever produces campus visits.

  5. 5

Follow through to the fee receipt

Every applicant followed through each counselling round to a paid admission or a clear no, measured against the baseline taken at the start.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can our professors' knowledge be used without them writing articles?
Yes. A short recorded conversation with a head of department gives enough for a course guide. The professor checks the draft for accuracy and the page carries their name, which parents trust more than an unsigned page.
Should we publish in Kannada, Telugu or Hindi as well as English?
For parents, yes, on the pages they read most: fees, hostel and admission steps. Students read in English. Have a fluent speaker on staff check every translation, because a wrong word about fees causes more calls than it saves.
Video or written pages?
Both, for different questions. A hostel or a lab is best seen on video. Fees, eligibility and documents belong in text, because families copy them and search for them again. Put a short written summary under every video.
Can we write about entrance exams we do not conduct?
Yes, as explanation, linked to the official notice. Do not reproduce the exam body's documents as your own or predict cut-offs, and revise the page when the exam rules change.
Can we advertise our NAAC grade, NIRF rank and placement record?
Yes, if each is current and stated exactly as awarded, with the year. Regulators and consumer protection rules treat misleading claims about approvals, rankings and placements seriously, and the rules change, so have your regulator's current guidance or a legal adviser check the wording. Never print a highest package without the year and the number of students placed.
Our admissions run on counselling rounds. When should marketing start?
Before the entrance results. A student builds the shortlist on result night and locks options soon after, so programme pages and search visibility must already be in place. Advertising can wait for the weeks around results and option entry.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
