Colleges and universities · Pay per click advertising

Pay for the student choosing a course, not the one checking exam results.

Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising for a college buys a place at the top of search results in the weeks between entrance results and the last counselling round. GullySales builds campaigns by programme and by entrance exam, keeps result-checkers and job seekers out, and counts paid admissions instead of form fills.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What pay per click advertising means

Pay per click advertising (PPC) is paying a fee each time someone clicks your advert on Google or another platform. It puts you at the top of a search page immediately, instead of waiting for ranking to build. GullySales sets the targeting, writes the ad text and checks spend daily against enquiries received.

For colleges and universities

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Result and hall ticket searches swallow the budget”

Searches for results, hall tickets, answer keys and university timetables carry your college's name or course and come from students already enrolled. Block them before the campaign runs.

  • “Portals bid on the same words you do”

Aggregator sites bid on course-and-city searches too, and the lead they collect can go to more than one college. Your ad has to land on a clear programme page to compete. A homepage cannot.

  • “A form fill is not an applicant”

Forms arrive from Class 10 students, parents curious about fees years ahead and agents collecting numbers. Counting them as leads makes a weak campaign look strong.

What we do

What we deliver for colleges and universities.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Campaigns split by programme and entrance exam

Separate campaigns for engineering branches, undergraduate degrees, MBA and nursing, each keyed to the exam and counselling it follows.

Result: Budget goes to the programme that still has seats.

  2. Negative lists built around the academic calendar

Results, hall ticket, answer key, revaluation, syllabus, previous papers, faculty jobs and warden vacancies excluded before launch.

Result: Clicks come from people who are still choosing.

  3. Landing pages per programme with the route in

The ad lands on the programme page with eligibility, the counselling code, fee heads and a short form asking for the score or rank.

Result: The counsellor rings back knowing whether the student is eligible.

  4. Spend planned around results and counselling rounds

Budget raised for the weeks around entrance results and option entry, and held back in the months when nobody is choosing.

Result: Money is spent while the decision is still open.

  5. Paid admissions traced back to the ad

Each ad enquiry followed through the admissions record to a campus visit, an application and a fee receipt, against the baseline from the audit.

Result: You see the cost of a seat, not the cost of a click.

How the result is measured

  • Cost per click
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries from paid search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches to bid on and block

Which searches a college should pay for in admission season, and which to keep out.

Course and city, such as BBA colleges in Hyderabad
Bid in the weeks after Class 12 results. Land on the BBA page with eligibility, fee heads and a callback form asking for the Class 12 stream and percentage.
Rank searches, such as colleges for my KCET rank
Bid during counselling. Land on a page explaining your counselling code and the branches open, and ask for the rank in the form so the counsellor knows what to say.
MBA admission with a CAT or MAT score
Bid after the score release. Name the scores accepted and the next selection round in the ad. Graduates search on a laptop at night, so a form works better here than a call button.
Results, hall tickets, revaluation and university timetables
Block. These come from enrolled students checking university notices, and they match any ad carrying your college name. Read the search terms report in the first days of every campaign.
Faculty jobs, non-teaching vacancies and walk-in interviews
Block. Recruitment searches sit beside admission searches and cost the same per click. Send job seekers to a careers page on your site, never through paid ads.
Counting a real enquiry
Count a form with a programme, a score or rank and a number that answers, or a call long enough to talk. Mark each in the admissions record as visited, applied or paid.

Who it is for

This is written for these colleges and universities.

  • Private engineering colleges admitting through state CET and JEE Main
  • Arts, science and commerce degree colleges
  • Business schools and PGDM institutes
  • Nursing, pharmacy and allied health colleges
  • Law colleges with five-year integrated programmes
  • Private universities and deemed-to-be universities
  • Autonomous colleges affiliated to a state university
  • Design, architecture and media colleges

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for colleges and universities

  1. 1

    Audit the last admission cycle

We trace where last year's applicants came from, how fast the office replied during counselling, how many visited and how many paid, using your admission register and portal exports.

  2. 2

Fix the record and the reply

One enquiry record for every source, a fee sheet every counsellor uses, and saved WhatsApp replies for hostel, fees and documents.

  3. 3

Rebuild the programme and placement pages

A page per programme with eligibility, fees and approvals, and a placement page built from the placement cell's records.

  4. 4

    Bring applicants in before results

Search, portals, school outreach and social channels set up ahead of each programme's result dates, with budget moved towards whatever produces campus visits.

  5. 5

Follow through to the fee receipt

Every applicant followed through each counselling round to a paid admission or a clear no, measured against the baseline taken at the start.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we bid on our own college name?
Yes, in a small separate campaign. Portals and rival colleges can appear above you for your own name, and a student who heard of you from a senior should land on your admissions page. Keep its figures apart so it does not flatter the rest.
Are call-only ads worth running for admissions?
For undergraduate courses, yes, because parents ring to ask about fees and the hostel. Run them only in the hours the admissions office is staffed, to a number someone answers. MBA applicants respond better to a form.
Can we put placement figures in our ads?
Only figures the placement cell's records support, with the year and the number of students placed. Ad platforms and consumer protection rules both act on misleading claims, and education advertising rules change, so have the wording checked before it goes live.
How do we know which ad calls became admissions?
Put a tracked number on the ads and the landing page, and have the counsellor log the caller's programme and rank in the admissions record. Match those numbers against fee receipts after each counselling round.
Can we advertise our NAAC grade, NIRF rank and placement record?
Yes, if each is current and stated exactly as awarded, with the year. Regulators and consumer protection rules treat misleading claims about approvals, rankings and placements seriously, and the rules change, so have your regulator's current guidance or a legal adviser check the wording. Never print a highest package without the year and the number of students placed.
Our admissions run on counselling rounds. When should marketing start?
Before the entrance results. A student builds the shortlist on result night and locks options soon after, so programme pages and search visibility must already be in place. Advertising can wait for the weeks around results and option entry.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
