Colleges and universities · Search engine optimisation

Rank for the course and the city a student types on result night.

Search engine optimisation (SEO) for a college or university decides whether your programme pages appear when a student searches a course, a city and an entrance exam after results. GullySales builds a page for every programme and for the questions families ask about it, and fixes the site faults that keep those pages out of results.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For colleges and universities

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The student searches a course, not your name”

Searches like BCA colleges in Mysuru or B.Tech data science in Pune carry the course and the city. A homepage opening with the founder's story cannot match them.

  • “Portals outrank you for your own college”

Shiksha, Collegedunia and Careers360 pages about your institution sit above your own site, quoting fees and reviews you never checked. Your page has to say more, and say it correctly.

  • “Approval and accreditation pages are missing”

A parent searching whether a college is AICTE approved or NAAC accredited should land on your page with the certificate details, not on a forum thread arguing about it.

What we do

What we deliver for colleges and universities.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A page per programme and specialisation

Each BE branch, each BBA or B.Com stream and each MBA specialisation on its own page with eligibility, entrance exams accepted, fee heads and intake.

Result: A student searching a specialisation lands on that programme.

  2. Approval, affiliation and accreditation set out plainly

The approving body, the affiliating university, accreditation grades and their validity, written as they appear on the documents, with the documents linked.

Result: A parent checking legitimacy finds the proof on your site.

  3. Admission route pages

The counselling code for each entrance exam you accept, lateral entry for diploma holders and the documents to bring, each on a page of its own.

Result: A student knows which route gets them in.

  4. Your portal profiles corrected

Fees, courses, photographs and contact details on the education portals checked against your own records, with corrections requested where they are wrong.

Result: The pages that outrank you at least say the right thing.

  5. Site faults cleared before results season

Slow pages weighed down by event galleries, broken application forms, prospectus PDFs in place of pages and duplicate course pages fixed before the searches start.

Result: A good programme page is no longer held back by the site around it.

  6. Search visits traced to applications

Visits, enquiries and applications from each programme page, set against the baseline recorded at the audit.

Result: You see which programmes search is filling.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches your applicants type

What a student or parent types before shortlisting a college, and the page that should answer it.

B.Tech computer science colleges in Bangalore through KCET
A programme page for the branch naming your counselling code, the intake and a link to the official closing ranks of past rounds. Link to the source rather than retyping its figures.
B.Com colleges in Pune with hostel for girls
A course page plus a hostel page showing rooms, wardens, the mess and the distance to campus. Parents from outside the city search for the hostel before they search for the course.
Is this college AICTE approved or UGC recognised
An approvals page listing each approval and accreditation with its reference and validity as printed. Update it when a renewal arrives, since an outdated page gets quoted on forums.
MBA colleges accepting MAT or CMAT score
An MBA or PGDM admissions page listing every score accepted, the selection process and the dates of each round. Graduates compare several institutes in one sitting, so put deadlines near the top.
B.Sc Nursing college fee structure
A fee page by programme, split into tuition, hostel, transport, uniform and exam fees, with the year it applies to. Hiding the fee hands the answer to portals and seniors.
Lateral entry BE admission for diploma students
A page for diploma holders naming the entrance test that applies in your state, the branches open and the documents. Few colleges answer this search well, so it is worth the page.

Who it is for

This is written for these colleges and universities.

  • Private engineering colleges admitting through state CET and JEE Main
  • Arts, science and commerce degree colleges
  • Business schools and PGDM institutes
  • Nursing, pharmacy and allied health colleges
  • Law colleges with five-year integrated programmes
  • Private universities and deemed-to-be universities
  • Autonomous colleges affiliated to a state university
  • Design, architecture and media colleges

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for colleges and universities

  1. 1

    Audit the last admission cycle

We trace where last year's applicants came from, how fast the office replied during counselling, how many visited and how many paid, using your admission register and portal exports.

  2. 2

Fix the record and the reply

One enquiry record for every source, a fee sheet every counsellor uses, and saved WhatsApp replies for hostel, fees and documents.

  3. 3

Rebuild the programme and placement pages

A page per programme with eligibility, fees and approvals, and a placement page built from the placement cell's records.

  4. 4

    Bring applicants in before results

Search, portals, school outreach and social channels set up ahead of each programme's result dates, with budget moved towards whatever produces campus visits.

  5. 5

Follow through to the fee receipt

Every applicant followed through each counselling round to a paid admission or a clear no, measured against the baseline taken at the start.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should each engineering branch have its own page, or one page for the BE programme?
Its own page. Students search computer science, electronics or mechanical separately, and each branch has a different intake, cut-off and set of recruiters. Keep the common admission rules on one page and link to it from every branch.
Do we need a blog?
Not before the programme, fee, hostel and approvals pages are right. After that, a few articles on what students actually ask, such as how option entry works in your state or BCA versus B.Sc computer science, earn their place. Ask faculty to supply the substance.
Should we make a page for each town we draw students from?
Only where you have something true to say about that town, such as a college bus route or a hostel block full of students from that district. A page per town with the name swapped is thin content to a search engine, and it drags the rest of the site down.
Can we use the university's syllabus text on our programme pages?
Link to it and write your own summary. The same syllabus text sits on every affiliated college's site, so a search engine has no reason to prefer yours. Describe what your department adds: labs, electives, projects and industry visits.
Can we advertise our NAAC grade, NIRF rank and placement record?
Yes, if each is current and stated exactly as awarded, with the year. Regulators and consumer protection rules treat misleading claims about approvals, rankings and placements seriously, and the rules change, so have your regulator's current guidance or a legal adviser check the wording. Never print a highest package without the year and the number of students placed.
Our admissions run on counselling rounds. When should marketing start?
Before the entrance results. A student builds the shortlist on result night and locks options soon after, so programme pages and search visibility must already be in place. Advertising can wait for the weeks around results and option entry.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
