Luxury hotels · Hospitality
A luxury hotel is chosen on the first reply, long before the stay.
A couple in Mumbai is choosing where to spend an anniversary weekend. They have looked at four properties on Instagram, read the Google reviews of two, and sent one WhatsApp message to the reservations number on the website. The message was answered the next afternoon with a rate card, by which time they had booked elsewhere.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

In one paragraph
Luxury hotel sales and marketing is the work of getting high-spending guests, travel designers and corporate desks to choose your property over the five-star next door. GullySales prepares the direct enquiry path, the reply scripts for reservations and the past-guest record, for hotels that now sell most suites through an OTA.
At this end of the market the guest is buying a feeling about the property as much as a room, and every small thing in the first exchange supports it or breaks it. A slow reply, a stock photograph or a rate that looks cheaper on an OTA tells the guest the property is less careful than its price.

How buyers decide
How luxury hotels are chosen.
Leisure guests build a shortlist from Instagram, travel articles, friends and Google reviews, then check the hotel's own website for the suite, the spa and the dining. Some ask a question first, about a room view, an early check-in or a private dinner, and book with whoever answers well. Price is compared, but a guest paying for a luxury stay is more worried about being disappointed than about the rate.
Corporate and senior-executive travel is decided differently. The executive assistant or the travel desk holds an approved list of hotels, and a rate contract with a named sales manager decides who is on it. Travel designers and luxury tour operators, who plan trips for foreign and NRI guests, recommend the properties they trust to handle a special request without a fuss.
After the stay, the decision is made again. A guest who was recognised at the second visit books direct, and a guest who was treated like a stranger goes back to the OTA and compares.
The problem
What usually goes wrong for luxury hotels.
What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.
“Our best suites are sold through an OTA at a discount”
The guest who would have paid the full rate found the cheaper tile on a booking app first, and the hotel paid commission on top.
“Reservations replies slowly or not in writing”
A WhatsApp enquiry on Saturday night waits until Monday. The guest has already asked two other hotels, and the other replied the same evening.
“Our photographs look like every other five-star property”
Lobby, pool and a made bed. Nothing shows the suite view at dusk, the chef's table or the garden where an anniversary dinner is laid.
“Travel designers do not know we exist”
Agents who plan luxury trips send guests to the three properties they already know, and nobody from our side has introduced the new wing or the villa.
“A guest stays twice and we do not know their name the third time”
Preferences sit in the front desk's memory. When the front office manager moves on, the knowledge goes too.
“The spa and restaurant are marketed to nobody outside the rooms”
Locals in the city who would book the spa day or the Sunday brunch have never been invited.
What we do
What we do for luxury hotels.
Everything included for luxury hotels.
A direct-booking page for each suite type
A page for each suite or villa with photographs taken at the time of day guests remember, a plain description of the view and what is included, and a direct enquiry button that opens WhatsApp.
Reservations reply scripts
Written reply scripts for the questions guests ask, such as early check-in, airport transfer and special dinners, with a rule for who answers and when a manager steps in.
A travel designer introduction pack
A short, well-designed document with the rooms, the experiences and the kind of request your team has handled before, sent to the luxury planners who send guests to your city.
Corporate account record
A list of the companies whose executives stay with you, who decides at each, and the date each rate contract comes up for renewal.
A past-guest record
A simple record of each returning guest's occasions, room preferences and the date of their last stay, used to write one personal message before an anniversary or a long weekend.
Google Business Profile and review replies
A profile with real photographs, a review request your desk can hand over at check-out, and draft answers to reviews, good or bad, for the manager to send in their own words.
How the result is measured
- Direct enquiries and direct bookings against OTA bookings
- Reply time on WhatsApp, phone and email
- Share of suites sold at the full rate
- Travel designer and corporate enquiries received
- Returning guests as a share of stays
- Google review count and the rating guests give
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
Every service, written for luxury hotels
Each has its own page: what it involves for luxury hotels, what you get, and what it is measured on.
- Lead generationA luxury hotel lead is a named guest or planner who has asked a real question.
- SEOSearch should bring the guest to your suite page, not to a booking app.
- Local SEOBe the hotel the map shows when a guest searches your city at midnight.
- Social media marketingSocial media sells a luxury hotel by showing what the stay feels like.
- Content marketingContent is how a hotel answers the guest's questions before the guest asks.
- Buyer personasKnow who books a suite, who pays for it and who only influences the choice.
- CRMA hotel CRM should remember the guest even when the front desk changes.
- Follow-up systemsA luxury enquiry is won by the hotel that follows up politely and on time.
- WhatsApp marketingFor a luxury guest in India, WhatsApp is the front door of the hotel.
- Digital marketingDigital marketing for a luxury hotel starts with the direct enquiry, not the ad.
- WebsiteA luxury hotel website should sell the stay and make asking easy.
Worth a page and a campaign of their own
Direct bookings for suites and premium rooms · Replies on WhatsApp, phone and email that match the room rate · Travel designer and luxury DMC relationships · Corporate rate contracts with executive travel desks · Spa, dining and brunch revenue from city residents · Anniversary, birthday and celebration packages · Reviews on Google and travel platforms that describe the stay · Past-guest preference records and repeat stays
Priority campaigns
Campaigns for what luxury hotels most want to sell.
Each one planned around when your buyers decide, and measured against the baseline.
Anniversary and celebration weekend campaign
Instagram and Google Ads aimed at couples within a few hours' drive of the hotel, built around a suite, a dinner and a room set-up, with the enquiry going to WhatsApp.
Spa day and Sunday brunch for city residents
A local campaign on Instagram, Google Maps and WhatsApp lists, inviting residents of nearby neighbourhoods to the spa and the brunch table.
Executive travel desk outreach
A named introduction to executive assistants and travel heads at companies headquartered nearby, with a one-page summary of the rooms, meeting spaces and invoicing process.
Winter and festive season early booking campaign
Email and WhatsApp to the past-guest list ahead of Diwali, Christmas and New Year, offering first choice of suites on the dates guests ask for most.
Beyond search
Where we reach buyers of luxury hotels, beyond Google.
Search matters, but it is rarely the only way this industry's buyers find a supplier.
Luxury travel designers and DMCs
The planners who send foreign and NRI guests to your city are listed, with an introduction and a note on any new wing or villa.
Executive assistants and corporate travel desks
Companies near the hotel whose senior staff travel are identified, and your sales manager takes the introduction to their desks.
Wedding planners and event houses
A planner booking suites for the bridal party sees a presentation with a room block for the families.
Private banks and premium card programmes
Relationship managers and concierge desks recommend stays to clients, so they receive a short offer to pass on, subject to each bank's own rules.
Local residents and clubs
Nearby clubs and resident associations get invitations to the spa, the bar and the dining rooms.

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

Where this fits
Three pieces of sales work, in this order.
GullySales builds every engagement from three pieces of sales work. This page is not one of them, but the same three steps apply to the business behind it.
Step 1
Sales audit
Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.
Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.
Step 2
Sales process design
One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.
Start here if every salesperson sells differently.
Step 3
Sales management
A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.
Start here if the team has targets and no routine.
