IVF and fertility clinics · Referral marketing

When a gynaecologist names your clinic, the couple listens, so look after that doctor.

Referral marketing for a fertility clinic means being named by gynaecologists, urologists and past patients when a couple asks where to go, and knowing who named you. GullySales sets up a referral record, drafts the updates you send referring doctors with the couple's consent, and keeps every referral free of payment, which medical ethics forbid.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What referral marketing means

Referral marketing in a regulated practice is being the one a physician, a colleague or a former patient names, without being paid to, because paying for a referral is restricted in most of these professions. GullySales builds the ask into the moment a patient is satisfied and into the note that goes back to the referring doctor, and it never involves a fee.

Last updated 6 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For IVF and fertility clinics

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Cut practice is the shortcut that ruins a clinic”

Paying a doctor per couple referred breaks medical ethics, and couples can sense when a recommendation was bought. Earn referrals with good care and honest updates.

  • “Referring doctors want to know what happened”

A gynaecologist who sent a couple and never heard back sends the next one elsewhere. A short update, with the couple's consent, keeps the doctor part of the care.

  • “Past patients refer quietly, not publicly”

A woman who conceived after treatment tells her cousin in private, not on Instagram. Make it easy for her to pass on a number, and never ask her to share her story.

What we do

What we deliver for IVF and fertility clinics.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Referral source on every enquiry

A field on the enquiry record for the doctor, lab or patient who sent the couple, filled in at the first call.

Result: You know exactly who your referrers are.

  2. Introduction pack for referring doctors

A short note on your doctors, treatments, consultation days and how to reach the coordinator, for gynaecologists and urologists in your catchment.

Result: A doctor can name your clinic with confidence.

  3. Updates to the referring doctor, with consent

A brief letter or message after the first consultation and at agreed points, sent only with the couple's permission.

Result: The doctor who referred stays part of the couple's care.

  4. A card for past patients who ask

A plain card with the clinic number and a booking link, handed over only when a couple asks how to recommend you.

Result: Recommendations happen without anyone feeling used.

  5. Clinical evenings for local gynaecologists

Talks by your doctor on anonymised cases, planned within the rules on hospitality to doctors.

Result: Referring doctors know your work through your doctor's own thinking.

How the result is measured

  • Referrals received
  • Referral conversion rate
  • Cost per referred customer

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How fertility referrals work

Couples reach an IVF clinic through a few trusted people, and each needs a different kind of thanks.

Gynaecologists and OBG clinics
They refer after IUI or tests fail. Send a consent-based update on the couple, invite them to case discussions, and record the referral against their name.
Urologists and andrologists
They see men with poor semen reports. Agree a two-way route, share the couple's plan with consent, and note which doctor sent the husband.
Diagnostic labs
Couples collect AMH and semen reports here. Give the lab a short leaflet to hand over, with no payment attached, and record the lab as the source.
Past patients
They recommend quietly to friends and family. Offer a card if they ask, thank them in person, and never use their names or stories without written consent.
Online fertility groups and forums
Couples ask one another for names there. Do not post into them as the clinic; answer when people come to your own channels.
What never to do
Never pay a doctor, lab or patient per couple referred, never offer discounts for referrals, and never send a referrer anything the couple did not agree to share.

Who it is for

This is written for these IVF and fertility clinics.

  • Standalone IVF centres run by one fertility specialist
  • Multi-branch fertility chains
  • Fertility units inside a multi-speciality or maternity hospital
  • Gynaecology practices adding IUI and fertility work
  • Andrology and male infertility clinics
  • Egg freezing and fertility preservation practices in the metros

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for IVF and fertility clinics

  1. 1

    Assess

We read your enquiry channels, how long couples wait for a reply, how consultations turn into tests and tests into a cycle, and where referred couples come from.

  2. 2

    Settle privacy and the rules

We agree with you and your adviser what an ad, a post or a message may say, and who may hold patient numbers, before anything goes out.

  3. 3

Fix the reply and the record

One clinic number, a coordinator's routine, and an enquiry record that follows a couple from the first message to a treatment decision.

  4. 4

Build the pages and the profile

Treatment and diagnosis pages reviewed by your doctor, a complete Maps listing for each centre, and content in the languages your couples speak.

  5. 5

Bring couples in and stay in touch

Search, referral work with gynaecologists and careful advertising for the treatments with room, with follow-up that stops when a couple asks it to.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we give gifts to doctors who refer couples to us?
Treat any payment or gift tied to referrals as off limits. Ethics rules on gifts and hospitality to doctors are strict and change, so check yours with your adviser. Thank a referrer with good care for their patients and a timely update.
How do we know which gynaecologist sent which couple?
Ask at the first call, write it in the enquiry record, and confirm it at the consultation. Some couples come through two people, so record both. Go through the referral record with the clinic head and note which doctors have gone quiet.
Is it right to approach a gynaecologist who has never referred to us?
Yes, as a colleague rather than a salesperson. Your doctor calls or visits, explains what the clinic offers and how updates work, and leaves an introduction note. A representative pushing for referrals turns it into a sales visit, and doctors notice.
Can we ask past patients to refer their friends?
Only lightly, and only couples who bring it up themselves. Fertility treatment is private, and a couple who went through failed cycles before succeeding may not want the reminder. Never ask a couple whose treatment did not work.
Can an IVF clinic advertise its success rate?
Treat it as a no. Rules on medical advertising restrict outcome claims, and a published rate invites comparisons that rarely compare like with like. Let the doctor discuss results in the consultation, against the couple's own age and diagnosis, and check any wording with your own council or adviser.
Is there a law that applies to fertility clinics specifically?
Yes. Assisted reproduction clinics and banks in India are registered and regulated under their own law, separate from the general rules on medical advertising, and it is strict on donors, records and consent. We do not interpret it for you, so your registration, any donor programme and your advertising wording go past your legal adviser first.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
