GullySales

Jewellery retailers · Referral marketing

One satisfied mother-in-law sends you the next three weddings in the family.

Referral marketing for a jewellery retailer runs on two lines: the family that recommends you to relatives, and the wedding trade that sees the bride before you do. Both work on trust rather than on posters. GullySales builds the ask, the introduction and the record of who is actually sending business.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What referral marketing means

Referral marketing is asking an existing customer to recommend you to someone they know, usually with a reward for both sides. It differs from a loyalty scheme because it brings in a new customer rather than a repeat purchase. GullySales builds the ask and the reward into a point where a customer is already satisfied.

For jewellery retailers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Referrals travel along family lines, not friend groups”

A bridal purchase is discussed among relatives who will themselves have weddings in the next few years. Ask at the delivery visit which cousin is getting married next, and the introduction is natural.

  • “The wedding trade meets the bride months before you do”

Photographers, makeup artists, silk saree shops and wedding planners are booked early. They are asked for a jeweller's name, and the one they remember is the one who sent them a customer last month.

  • “A cash cut for a referral changes the advice she is given”

Pay a planner per introduction and your store becomes the one she pushes, which the family eventually senses. A reciprocal arrangement, where both sides send business, holds up better and costs nothing.

What we do

What we deliver for jewellery retailers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A referral ask built into the delivery visit

A simple question at the fitting or delivery about the next occasion in the family, with a card the customer can pass on.

Result: You ask when the set is in her hands and she is pleased.

  2. A wedding trade contact list for your area

Photographers, makeup artists, boutiques and planners working in the localities you draw from, with a named person at each.

Result: Outreach goes to people who meet your buyers first.

  3. A reciprocal arrangement in writing

An agreed, written basis for what each side does for the other, so the relationship survives a change of staff on either side.

Result: Referrals keep coming when the person who set it up leaves.

  4. Every referral recorded to its source

New customers tagged with the family member, planner or photographer who sent them, entered at the counter.

Result: You know which handful of relationships are worth your time.

  5. A thank-you that is noticed and not paid

A planned way of acknowledging a referrer, from a call by the owner to an invitation at a collection launch, agreed and used consistently.

Result: The referrer feels seen without being bought.

How the result is measured

  • Referrals received
  • Referral conversion rate
  • Cost per referred customer

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these jewellery retailers.

  • Bridal and wedding jewellery showrooms
  • Gold and diamond jewellery retail chains
  • Silver and artificial jewellery stores
  • Certified diamond and solitaire retailers
  • Traditional and antique jewellery stores

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. 01 · First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. 06 · At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for jewellery retailers

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at how your showroom is found for bridal and festive searches, how fast WhatsApp design enquiries are answered, and what last festival season's campaign actually produced.

  2. 2

Fix the profile and the reply

Google Business Profile and Maps listing kept current for every showroom, and a WhatsApp routine for design and price enquiries.

  3. 3

Build the pages that get searched

Pages for bridal collections, diamond jewellery and gold rate transparency, written for the questions a buyer actually asks before a visit.

  4. 4

    Plan the festive calendar

Campaigns built ahead of Akshaya Tritiya, Dhanteras and the wedding season, with the enquiry desk staffed for the spike.

  5. 5

Bring buyers in and keep them

Local search, Google Ads timed to the season, and a referral and exchange-reminder routine for past bridal customers.

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we pay a commission to wedding planners?
Think carefully before you do. The moment a planner earns on your sale, her recommendation is no longer neutral, and families notice. A reciprocal arrangement where you also send her work usually lasts longer.
How do we ask for a referral without it feeling like a sales pitch?
Ask about the family rather than about business. At the delivery of a bridal order, asking who is getting married next is a normal conversation, and handing over a card at that point is not pushy.
How far ahead should we plan for a festival like Akshaya Tritiya?
At least six to eight weeks, so the pages, the ad budget and the enquiry desk are ready before the search volume rises. Planning the week before means missing most of the spike.
Do we need Google Ads or just SEO?
Ads for the festival and wedding-season spikes when you need showroom footfall in a fixed window; SEO for buyers researching months in advance. Most jewellers use both around the calendar.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
