Manufacturing · Automotive Components

A bolt is a commodity until the buyer needs the grade, the coating and the batch record.

A fastener has the weakest case for marketing in the vehicle world, because it looks the same from any maker. The buyer knows better. Strength grade, thread accuracy, plating and the records behind a batch separate a supplier from a cheap one, and a failed bolt costs far more than it saves.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

An industrial supplier checks gears, bearings, valves and fasteners

In one paragraph

Automotive fasteners are the bolts, nuts, studs, clips and special pins that hold a vehicle together, made in grades and coatings to a drawing or a standard. GullySales helps their makers show grade and coating control, reach vehicle makers and the replacement trade, and follow up each quotation.

Fastener buying is also repeat buying. Once a drawing is approved, the order keeps coming until something goes wrong, so the first job is to be the maker on the approved list.

Last updated 16 Oct 2026. Licence, certification, labelling and advertising rules for automotive components differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if automotive fasteners is what you make or sell.

  • Cold-forging shops making bolts, nuts and studs in volume
  • Makers of special pins, clips and turned fasteners to drawing
  • Plating and coating houses working for fastener makers
  • Makers selling assorted fasteners to the replacement and workshop trade

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A maker who cannot trace a batch back to a raw material lot
  • A trader mixing fasteners from several sources without testing them

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of automotive fasteners.

  1. Grade and property class on the drawing

The drawing states the strength class and the material. The buyer wants the test certificate for the lot, not a general statement.

  2. Coating and corrosion requirement

Zinc flake, zinc plating and phosphate each suit different parts. The buyer asks about the process, the thickness range and the salt-spray practice.

  3. Batch traceability

In this trade a bolt that fails is traced to its lot. A clear marking and record system is a sales document.

  4. Workshop trade buys by assortment

A workshop or retailer wants boxed assortments by thread size and length and re-orders what runs out. They compare price per box and pack quality.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell automotive fasteners.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “The buyer calls us a commodity and negotiates on price”

Without visible grade control and records, price is the only line left to compare.

  • “Our approved customers never mention us to others”

Fastener approvals stay inside the purchase department. There is no trade talk to help you.

  • “Retail packs do not sell themselves”

A workshop owner chooses from a shelf and a counter-top box. Your pack has no label that says what it is for.

The scope

The work we would propose for automotive fasteners.

Measured on qualified enquiries, quotation requests, follow-up on each quotation, trial orders won and repeat orders. Anything here that needs a platform, directory or tool we have not used with you is confirmed with you before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for automotive fasteners.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A grade and coating explainer

Written for the purchase engineer who needs to confirm you know the difference between grades and finishes.

  2. A traceability one-sheet

Shows how a lot is marked, stored and linked to raw material and test records.

  3. A dealer assortment catalogue

Lets a workshop owner order by box code without calling for each size.

  4. A reorder message

Reminds repeat dealers of their last order and asks to repeat it.

How the result is measured

  • Qualified enquiries by source
  • Quotation requests with a drawing
  • Follow-up made on each quotation
  • Trial lots won
  • Repeat orders per dealer
  • Reorder reminders answered

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Product range with grades and coatings
  • A sample test certificate and batch record
  • Dealer list with order history
  • Pack photographs for retail lines
  • Vehicle makers or suppliers you already supply, by type

Export and new regions

Selling automotive fasteners beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Importers and distributors

Overseas fastener distributors buy to published standards and ask for test certificates. Which standards you meet is a statement from your own records.

  2. Sea freight of heavy lots

Fasteners are dense, so freight sets the practical minimum order. Say what yours is.

FAQ

Questions about selling automotive fasteners.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I stand out when fasteners look identical?
Show the records. A lot certificate, a marking system and a plating process described honestly are hard to copy and easy for a quality engineer to check.
Is retail packing worth the cost?
For the workshop trade, yes: a labelled box on a shelf sells. For vehicle makers no. Decide by who you want to sell to.
Can I list standards on my site?
Only those you can show a test record for, and worded the way your quality head would defend. We leave specific standard numbers to you.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
