Manufacturing · Forging & Metal Forming

Our forgings come off the press near net shape, and the buyer still wants a machined price comparison.

Precision forging earns its place when the forged part removes machining. The buyer who compares it with a part cut from bar needs to see the whole cost: material saved, machining saved, tool cost and the quality of the grain flow.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Inspectors check forged shafts and formed metal parts

In one paragraph

Precision forging produces parts close to their final shape, with tight tolerances and little machining left to do, such as gears, bevel gears, valve bodies and hubs. GullySales helps precision forgers show what machining a customer saves, so buyers weigh the forged part against a machined bar, not just a rate.

A quotation that gives only a forging rate invites a comparison that precision forging often loses on paper. The sales work is to put the comparison on the page.

Who it is for

This is written for you if precision forging is what you make or sell.

  • Precision and warm forging shops making gears, hubs, flanges and valve parts
  • Forgers with in-house die design and finishing dies
  • Units supplying automotive transmissions and industrial gearboxes
  • Shops with machining, grinding and inspection on site

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A shop that cannot measure its forgings to the tolerance it quotes
  • A forger without die design capability or a dependable tool-room partner

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of precision forging.

  1. Net shape against machining

The engineer compares the forged part with a machined one. They want to know how much machining remains and on which faces.

  2. Dimensional reports and inspection

The buyer asks for a dimensional report on the first lot and agrees a control plan. Measuring equipment held is checked.

  3. Die design and development

Precision dies need development and a few trials. The buyer wants to know how many trials to expect and who carries the cost.

  4. Material and grain flow

Alloy and case-hardening steels are named, and buyers value a shop that can explain grain flow and heat treatment.

Where orders are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell precision forging.

In the words owners use on the first call.

  • “They compare us to a machined part and we lose on rate”

The buyer sees a forging rate and a machined rate. Savings in material and machining time do not appear in either.

  • “Die development takes trials and the buyer loses patience”

Nobody explained the trial stage, so a normal iteration looks like a problem.

  • “Our best work is invisible because it is a part inside a gearbox”

There is nothing to photograph that explains it. The shop has no way of showing its precision.

The scope

The work we would propose for precision forging.

Measured on qualified enquiries, quotation requests, follow-up on each quotation, trial orders won and repeat orders. Anything here that needs a platform, directory or tool we have not used with you is confirmed with you before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for precision forging.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A net-shape comparison paper

Explains what the forged part saves, using a part you have made.

  2. A die-development timeline page

Names the stages from drawing to approval without promising durations.

  3. A gearbox and transmission buyer list

Named firms and the part type.

  4. An inspection summary

Measuring equipment and reports in one document.

How the result is measured

  • Qualified drawings received
  • Comparison requests answered
  • Die development approvals
  • Sample approvals
  • Repeat orders after first lot
  • Machining-hours saved reported by buyers

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before we talk.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • A forged part you made and the machined part it replaces
  • Dimensional reports from past lots
  • Inspection and measuring equipment list
  • Die design and trial history
  • Customers and parts supplied

Export and new regions

Selling precision forging beyond your home market.

Where you sell decides standards, documents, payment terms and freight. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new region we start from your own enquiries, your existing buyers and the directories you already use.

  1. Overseas gearbox and axle makers

Precision-forged blanks are bought by makers of transmissions and axles abroad. Your current export enquiries tell you whether you are already in this channel.

  2. Inspection reports for foreign buyers

Dimensional reports and material certificates are standard requests. Say what you issue, and how.

FAQ

Questions about selling precision forging.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do we show a buyer that forging saves money over machining?
Take one part and set out the material and machining steps it removes. A one-page comparison does this better than a claim.
What makes a forging precision forging?
That it needs little machining after the press. Where the line falls varies by shop and part, so state what your parts need after forging.
Can a small precision forger win transmission work?
It can win some parts. Approval is slow and depends on your quality records, and marketing opens the door only.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on what is being changed and how many of the people who matter see it. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever the work touches, such as your profiles, your website or your accounts, and time with the people who can answer our questions.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.
