Orthopaedic clinics · Pay per click advertising

Pay for the knee replacement enquiry, not the mattress shopper.

PPC advertising for an orthopaedic clinic is paying for a place at the top of Google when someone searches for a procedure or an injury you treat, and paying only for the click. GullySales picks the searches worth the money, blocks the ones that bring buyers of braces and calcium tablets, and counts which clicks became consultations.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What pay per click advertising means

Pay per click advertising (PPC) is paying a fee each time someone clicks your advert on Google or another platform. It puts you at the top of a search page immediately, instead of waiting for ranking to build. GullySales sets the targeting, writes the ad text and checks spend daily against enquiries received.

Last updated 6 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For orthopaedic clinics

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “'Orthopaedic' brings in mattress and shoe searches”

Orthopaedic mattress, pillow and slippers are large searches with nothing to do with a surgeon. Without a negative list the budget goes to shoppers.

  • “An ad promising pain relief is a liability”

Copy that says pain-free knees or no surgery needed is a result claim. Doctors' advertising rules and the platform's health policies both restrict it, so the ad sells the consultation instead.

  • “Clicks land on the homepage and the X-ray question is lost”

A family searching knee replacement cost lands on a page about the clinic's history. They wanted to know what decides the bill and how to send the X-ray.

What we do

What we deliver for orthopaedic clinics.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Search lists built around procedures and injuries

Knee replacement, ACL reconstruction, fracture clinic and spine surgeon searches, grouped by procedure and by the surgeon who does it.

Result: Spend goes to searches from people who need what you treat.

  2. A negative list for the trade's wasted clicks

Mattresses, pillows, braces, shoes, calcium tablets, home remedies, jobs and courses added as negatives before any money is spent, then checked against the search terms report.

Result: Fewer clicks from people who were never going to be patients.

  3. Ad copy that sells the appointment

Wording about the surgeon's qualification, consulting days, insurers accepted and how to share reports, kept clear of outcome claims.

Result: Ads run without a line that troubles your council or the platform.

  4. A landing page for each procedure advertised

A page for the procedure in the ad, covering the first consultation and what to bring, with a WhatsApp button for sending the X-ray.

Result: The click turns into a report received, not a bounce.

  5. Call tracking on the clinic line

A call extension or a number shown only in ads, so calls the ads produced are counted apart from walk-ins and referrals.

Result: You know which calls the spend paid for.

  6. Consultations from ads, against the baseline

Clicks followed through to booked OPD consultations and surgeries advised, compared with the figures recorded before the ads ran.

Result: You can tell an ad that brought a patient from one that brought a visitor.

How the result is measured

  • Cost per click
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries from paid search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches to bid on and block

The searches worth paying for at a bone and joint clinic, and the ones to keep out.

Procedure plus city, such as knee replacement surgeon in your city
Bid, for procedures your surgeon has theatre time for. The family is comparing surgeons. Land on the procedure page with the surgeon, the hospitals used and how to send reports.
Fresh injury searches: fracture clinic near me, sprain doctor open now
Bid, with a call ad in a tight radius, only during hours the X-ray room is open. Pause it whenever nobody can see a fresh injury, or the calls ring out.
Orthopaedic mattress, pillow, shoes, belt and knee cap
Block. These are product shoppers. Add them as negatives on day one and read the search terms report for new ones, such as orthopaedic chair or slippers.
Home remedies, exercises, pain oil and calcium tablets
Block. Knee pain oil, back pain exercises and calcium tablets for bones are self-care searches. A useful article may reach them later; an ad will not.
Bone setter and traditional massage searches
Block. People looking for a traditional bone setter want exactly that and will not book a surgeon from an ad. Leave them out rather than argue with them in ad copy.
Landing page, and which contacts to count
Land on the procedure page with a call button and a WhatsApp link for the X-ray. Count a call to the clinic line, a report received or a booked consultation, never the click alone.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for orthopaedic clinics

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at where consultations come from, how fast WhatsApp reports get a reply, the Maps listing for each consulting address, and how many patients advised surgery went quiet.

  2. 2

    Fix the reply

A named person for calls and WhatsApp, replies that offer a slot without diagnosing, and a register of every enquiry by condition.

  3. 3

    Write the condition pages

Pages for knee, hip, shoulder, spine, fractures and sports injuries, with the surgeon, the hospitals and the report route on each.

  4. 4

    Bring patients in

Maps, reviews asked at the right point in recovery, letters to referring GPs and physios, and ads for procedures where the surgeon has theatre time.

  5. 5

    Follow up and measure

Calls to patients advised surgery and to those due for review, with the reason recorded for each, set against the baseline.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we bid on our surgeon's name?
A small separate campaign is worth it. Patients sent by a GP or a physio search the name, and a directory or another clinic can appear above you. Keep that ad to timings, the address and the booking route.
Do call-only ads suit an orthopaedic clinic?
For fresh injuries, yes, while someone answers the phone and the X-ray room is open. For a knee replacement the family wants to read first, so send that click to a procedure page instead of straight to a call.
Our ads keep getting calls from physiotherapy students and job seekers. Why?
The searches include jobs, internships or courses. Add physiotherapy course, ortho job, vacancy and internship as negatives, and keep vacancies on a careers page that no ad points to.
How do we know which calls came from Google Ads?
Use a call extension or a tracked number that appears only in ads, and ask every new caller how they found you. Write the answer in the enquiry register next to the procedure they asked about.
Is an orthopaedic surgeon allowed to advertise?
Within limits set by medical councils, which differ by state and change. Words such as best or painless, discounts and any promise of a result are the usual problems. We write pages and ads that describe the procedure and the surgeon's qualifications, and you check them against your own council's current rules before they go live.
Can we show a patient walking after a knee replacement?
Ask your council or adviser first. A video or photograph of a result works as a testimonial, and doctors' advertising rules restrict those. If it is allowed, take written consent for that specific use. We would sooner film the physio room and the surgeon explaining the stay.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
