Pathology labs · Pay per click advertising

Pay for the blood-test-at-home search, not for people hunting the cheapest panel.

Pay per click advertising for a pathology lab means paying Google to appear when someone searches for a test, a package or a home collection that your phlebotomists can take. GullySales picks the searches worth bidding on, blocks the ones that never become samples and counts a collected sample, not a click.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What pay per click advertising means

Pay per click advertising (PPC) is paying a fee each time someone clicks your advert on Google or another platform. It puts you at the top of a search page immediately, instead of waiting for ranking to build. GullySales sets the targeting, writes the ad text and checks spend daily against enquiries received.

Last updated 6 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For pathology labs

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “An ad that lists the whole menu sells nothing”

All tests available competes with every lab and app in the city. An ad for a thyroid profile with home collection in your area competes with a few.

  • “The call arrives after the phlebotomist has left”

A home collection ad that runs all day sends a call at six in the evening for a slot that closed at noon. The patient books the next lab and the click is paid for.

  • “Price searches bring the wrong crowd”

People searching for the cheapest blood test or a free camp compare apps on price alone. Most of that spend ends as a phone call that never becomes a sample.

What we do

What we deliver for pathology labs.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Campaigns split by test group and home collection

Routine panels, check-up packages, fever tests and home collection each run as their own campaign, so money moves to the one that has capacity.

Result: Budget follows the part of the lab that can take samples.

  2. Ad hours set to the phlebotomist's day

Home collection ads switched on while slots remain and a person will answer, agreed with whoever runs the collection roster.

Result: Nobody pays for a call at a desk that is closed.

  3. Negative keyword lists from real search terms

Job, course, kit, normal range, symptom and donation searches added as negatives, with the search terms read again after every change.

Result: Money stops going to people who were never patients.

  4. Landing pages for each test and package

Each ad lands on the page for that test or package, with the preparation, a call button and a WhatsApp link.

Result: The person who searched for HbA1c finds HbA1c, not your home page.

  5. Call tracking to the counter that answered

A tracked number for each campaign, with the front desk marking whether the call became a collected sample, a booked slot or only a price question.

Result: You can tell which campaign filled the collection roster.

  6. A report of spend against samples collected

Spend, calls and collected samples for each campaign, set against the baseline recorded before the ads began.

Result: You know what the advertising is producing at the counter.

How the result is measured

  • Cost per click
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries from paid search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches to bid on and block

Which pathology searches are worth paying for, and which to keep out.

A test plus area, such as thyroid test near me
Bid. The patient holds a prescription and is choosing a lab. Land on the page for that test with the preparation, the collection hours and a call button that rings the front desk.
Blood test at home, sample collection at home
Bid while slots remain. The searcher wants a visit, so the page needs the areas covered, a booking route and a person to answer. Switch the ad off when the roster is full.
Check-up package for parents or senior citizens
Bid on a package page that lists every test. The buyer is an adult child comparing contents, so the page must make sense without a phone call.
Cheap, offer, free and lowest price
Block, or bid low and read the search terms. People shopping on price alone book whichever lab or app is cheapest, and the spend rarely returns as a sample.
Jobs, DMLT course, sample report and normal range
Block vacancy, DMLT, course, kit, normal range, sample report, symptom and donation. These come from students, job seekers and people reading a result they already hold.
Where the click lands, and what counts
Send each click to the test or package page with a call button and a WhatsApp link. Count an answered call or a booked slot, then whether the sample was collected.

Who it is for

This is written for these pathology labs.

  • Neighbourhood labs beside clinics and nursing homes
  • Labs inside a hospital or polyclinic
  • Multi-centre pathology chains in one city
  • Collection centres of a larger reference lab
  • Labs that run corporate and school camps
  • Pathology labs with their own radiology corner

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for pathology labs

  1. 1

Listen to how calls are handled

The free audit call traces where price calls and bookings come from, who answers and what happens during the morning rush.

  2. 2

Fix the first minute of the call

One price sheet, agreed answering hours and a log of every enquiry.

  3. 3

Make the lab findable for the test

Test and package pages, a Business Profile with visible prices and reviews asked for after a smooth collection.

  4. 4

Put the lab in front of the clinic

A sheet for each reception desk and a follow-up, built with your own adviser's view on what may be offered.

  5. 5

    Report on samples, not activity

A report on enquiries, collections, corporate quotes and repeat patients against the baseline taken before anything changed.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

A rival lab's ad shows when people type our name. What should we do?
Bid on your own name in a small separate campaign so you appear first. Do not bid on the rival's name in return: it starts a spending contest neither lab wins, and platform rules on brand names can be strict. Read the current ad policy before you decide.
Are call-only ads right for a lab?
Yes for home collection and urgent fever tests, if a person picks up every call during the hours the ad runs. For packages, send people to a page where they can read the tests, so the caller already knows what to ask.
Patients ring from the ad to ask where to collect a report. How do we keep that out of the numbers?
Give existing patients a different number on the report message and on the signboard. Have the desk mark each call as new test enquiry, report query or other. Only the first kind counts as an enquiry from the ad.
A patient clicked the ad but booked on WhatsApp. How do we count it?
Put a WhatsApp link with a preset message on the ad's page, such as the test name and the word ad, so the chat arrives labelled. The desk logs it as an ad enquiry and marks the sample when collected. Without the label, those bookings look like walk-ins.
Can we pay doctors who send us patients?
Commission or fee-sharing with referring doctors is restricted under medical council rules, and the position differs by state and changes. We do not design or manage any such arrangement. We build the legitimate route: a sheet for the clinic, a named contact and a follow-up.
Can we publish test prices?
Prices are what patients compare, and publishing them usually helps. Rules on health advertising differ by state and by who owns the lab. Avoid claims to be the best or the most accurate, and let your adviser confirm the wording.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
