Pathology labs · WhatsApp marketing

Send the report and the fasting reminder on WhatsApp, not a broadcast of package offers.

WhatsApp marketing for a pathology lab means using the app patients already open to confirm a collection, remind them to fast and deliver the report, with their permission recorded. GullySales sets up the opt-in, the business profile and the approved messages, so the lab sends what patients asked for and nothing more.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily, which gets read faster than email or SMS. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

Last updated 6 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For pathology labs

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The number on the bill belongs to someone else”

A son pays and gives his own number for his mother's report. A message about her tests then goes to him, or to a clinic's number, without anyone having agreed. Record whose number it is.

  • “The fasting reminder is the message patients thank you for”

A note the evening before saying to fast and to bring the prescription stops a patient arriving after breakfast and being sent home. Offers sent the following week are the messages they mute.

  • “Consent for a report is not consent for offers”

A lab that sends the senior citizen package to a diabetic's attendant gets blocked, and a blocked lab loses report delivery too. One list for reports, another for offers.

What we do

What we deliver for pathology labs.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Opt-in on the registration form

Separate ticks for reminders and reports, and for health offers, with the owner of the number named and the answer recorded.

Result: You can show who agreed to what, and when.

  2. A business profile patients recognise

Lab name as on the signboard, address, hours and a line saying what messages to expect, so a patient knows the sender is the lab.

Result: Patients reply to the lab's message and do not report it.

  3. Approved templates for the messages a lab sends

Fasting reminder, collection confirmation, report ready, repeat test reminder and changed slot, written plainly and submitted for approval.

Result: Every routine message goes out in the lab's own wording.

  4. A rule for what a report message carries

A link or file sent only to the registered number, with no test names in the message text or the preview.

Result: A report does not announce itself on a locked screen.

  5. A person behind the chat

A named staff member who answers in stated hours, and a reply outside them that says when the desk reopens.

Result: A question on WhatsApp is not left to sit.

  6. An opt-out honoured on every list

A plain way to stop messages, recorded against the patient and removed from every list.

Result: A patient who says stop hears nothing more.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What must be in place first

What a pathology lab sets up before the first WhatsApp message goes out.

Opt-in at registration
Add a tick for reminders and report delivery and keep health offers as a separate tick. Record the date, who agreed and whether the number is the patient's or an attendant's.
Business profile
Create the business profile with the lab name as on the signboard, the address, the hours and a line saying what messages to expect. Patients who recognise the name reply instead of blocking.
Message templates
Write the fasting reminder, the report-ready note, the home collection confirmation and the repeat test reminder as templates. Keep test names out of the preview text.
Who pays
Business messages sent outside a patient's own reply window are charged by the platform. Check WhatsApp's current business policy and pricing before you plan any broadcast.
Opt-out
End every message that is not a report with a plain way to stop. Remove the number from every list and record it as soon as your desk sees the request.
A person to answer
Decide who replies in the lab's hours, what to say when the pathologist is needed and when a chat moves to a call. An unanswered chat does more harm than no chat.

Who it is for

This is written for these pathology labs.

  • Neighbourhood labs beside clinics and nursing homes
  • Labs inside a hospital or polyclinic
  • Multi-centre pathology chains in one city
  • Collection centres of a larger reference lab
  • Labs that run corporate and school camps
  • Pathology labs with their own radiology corner

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for pathology labs

  1. 1

Listen to how calls are handled

The free audit call traces where price calls and bookings come from, who answers and what happens during the morning rush.

  2. 2

Fix the first minute of the call

One price sheet, agreed answering hours and a log of every enquiry.

  3. 3

Make the lab findable for the test

Test and package pages, a Business Profile with visible prices and reviews asked for after a smooth collection.

  4. 4

Put the lab in front of the clinic

A sheet for each reception desk and a follow-up, built with your own adviser's view on what may be offered.

  5. 5

    Report on samples, not activity

A report on enquiries, collections, corporate quotes and repeat patients against the baseline taken before anything changed.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Our reports come out of the lab software. Does that mean the API and not the app?
The app is enough while one desk sends a few messages by hand. Move to the API when several staff share a number, when reports go out automatically from the lab system or when approved templates must go to many patients. Ask your lab software vendor whether it connects.
Can we start a WhatsApp group for diabetic patients to share tips?
Avoid it. Everyone sees every number, a question about one person's result lands in front of the whole group and the lab cannot control what is said. Use one-to-one messages with consent. Check the platform's current rules on broadcast lists.
Can we put our tests and prices in the WhatsApp catalogue?
Yes, for the tests and packages already on your own pages, with a price only where the lab will honour it. Keep the catalogue to what a patient can actually book. Rules on health advertising differ by state, so have the wording checked.
A patient sends a photo of the prescription and asks which tests to book. Who replies?
A trained desk person, who reads out the tests the doctor wrote and the preparation, and never suggests one the doctor did not. If the writing is unclear, the answer is to ask the doctor. Use the photo only for the booking and delete it as your policy says.
Can we pay doctors who send us patients?
Commission or fee-sharing with referring doctors is restricted under medical council rules, and the position differs by state and changes. We do not design or manage any such arrangement. We build the legitimate route: a sheet for the clinic, a named contact and a follow-up.
Can we publish test prices?
Prices are what patients compare, and publishing them usually helps. Rules on health advertising differ by state and by who owns the lab. Avoid claims to be the best or the most accurate, and let your adviser confirm the wording.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
