Personal care brands · Search engine optimisation

Be the page she finds when she searches for a shampoo for her scalp.

SEO for a personal care brand means getting product and concern pages to appear when a shopper searches for what her skin or hair needs, before she has chosen a brand. GullySales writes a page for each product that states its ingredients and who it suits, and sorts out the search for your own name, where marketplace listings sit above the brand.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For personal care brands

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The product page is a photograph and two lines”

A shopper searching for a shampoo for dandruff lands on a page with no ingredient list and no use instructions, so she goes back to the marketplace that has both.

  • “Searches name the concern, not the brand”

Nobody types your brand on day one. They type dry scalp, oily skin or hair fall, and the page that wins is the one that says plainly what is in the bottle and who it is for.

  • “The ingredient text is the manufacturer's paragraph”

The same description sits on every brand your contract manufacturer supplies. Search engines see ten copies and rank none of them well.

What we do

What we deliver for personal care brands.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A page for every product, written from the label

Ingredients in full, who it suits, how to use it, pack size and what it does not do, in plain words.

Result: A buyer who lands on the page finds what the back of the pack would tell her.

  2. Concern pages above the product pages

One page for each need your range is bought for, such as dry skin in winter or an itchy scalp, linking to the products that suit it and saying when to see a doctor instead.

Result: The search made before she picks a brand lands on a page of yours.

  3. Ingredient and use text that is your own

Descriptions rewritten from your formulation sheet and from the questions customers ask, not from the paragraph other brands copied.

Result: Search engines see a page that exists nowhere else.

  4. The search for your own name taken in hand

What appears when someone types the brand: your site, the marketplace listing, review pages and look-alike sellers, each given a job.

Result: The check she makes before buying ends somewhere you control.

  5. Product markup a search engine can read

Price, availability, size and ratings marked up on each product page, with duplicate addresses for every shade and pack size sorted out.

Result: Your result looks like a shop, not a plain blue line.

  6. Organic orders read by page

Searches for your name separated from searches for a concern, orders traced to the landing page and both set against the figures taken before work started.

Result: You can name the page that sold the bottle.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches your buyers type

What a shopper types before she buys a product like yours, and the page that answers it.

shampoo for dry scalp and dandruff
A concern page with a short guide on top, then the products that suit it. Name the ingredients and who each is for. This catches the shopper who has not picked a brand.
[your brand] hair oil ingredients
The product page itself. List every ingredient in the order printed on the pack, say what the oil is made for and add patch test advice. People check this before they pay.
is [your brand] safe for sensitive skin
A plain page on who the product suits and who should patch test first, with a line to stop use and see a doctor if a reaction starts. Avoid claims such as safe for all, which no formula can promise.
[your brand] vs [rival]
A comparison written honestly, with what differs and who each product suits. Left unwritten, a rival or a review site writes it for you.
herbal soap distributor in Karnataka
A page for trade buyers with the districts still open and an enquiry form, kept apart from the shopper pages. A shopper and a distributor want different things from the same brand.
private label shampoo manufacturer
Only if you take contract work. A capability page listing product types, minimum order and licences held, so a brand owner can decide before she calls.

Who it is for

This is written for these personal care brands.

  • Soap, bath and body brands
  • Shampoo, conditioner and hair oil brands
  • Face wash, skincare and sunscreen brands
  • Ayurvedic and herbal personal care brands
  • Baby care and mother care brands
  • Men's grooming, beard and shaving brands
  • Handmade and small-batch natural soap makers
  • Private label, salon-professional and hotel amenity makers

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for personal care brands

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at where the product sells, which outlets reorder, what the reviews say about skin and hair reactions, and how trade enquiries are answered.

  2. 2

    Check the claims

Every line on the pack, the listing and the ads is read against your licence and test reports, and doubtful words go to your adviser before anything is printed.

  3. 3

Build the shelf and the listing

Product pages, offer sheets and listings written from the label, so a shopper and a chemist both find what they came to check.

  4. 4

Open channels one at a time

Chemists, a new district, salons or a marketplace, added in the order your stock, cash and reorder records can carry.

  5. 5

    Track the second purchase

Reorder tracking, review replies and seasonal packs based on who bought again, not on who followed the page.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we have a page for each product or one page per concern?
Both, with different jobs. The product page answers a shopper who has already chosen you, with ingredients, use and size. The concern page catches the one who has not, and links to the products that suit her. Start with the products you sell most.
Can we copy the ingredient descriptions our manufacturer sent?
Not as they are. The same paragraph sits on every brand that manufacturer supplies, and search engines treat it as copied. Rewrite it from your own formula sheet in plain words, and have your formulator check the facts before it goes live.
Do we need a blog?
Only if you will answer real buyer questions, such as how to patch test or how to choose between two shampoos. Generic beauty tips take effort and rarely bring a buyer. Product pages and concern pages come first, then a handful of honest answers.
Who should own the domain and the Search Console login?
The company. Register the domain and the accounts under an email address you control, and add the agency or freelancer as a user. If someone else registered them, move ownership to you now, before the day you need it.
Do we need a licence before we market a soap or a cream?
Cosmetics and Ayurvedic products are both regulated, with rules on licences, labels and claims that differ by product and change over time. Check yours with a regulatory consultant or your contract manufacturer before you print a pack or write a listing. We ask for the licence and test reports at the start, so no copy goes out that the file cannot back.
Should we sell on Nykaa and Amazon before we go to chemists?
Start where your buyer already searches. A hair oil for older buyers moves through chemists and kirana shops, and a serum for younger buyers moves on marketplaces. Pick one channel, let reviews or reorders build, then add the next. Opening everywhere together splits your stock and your attention.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
