Hospitals · Newspaper advertising
Book the edition your patients actually live in, and print the camp date in it.
Newspaper advertising for a hospital is paid space in one edition of one title on one morning, bought for a screening camp, an opening or a new department. GullySales picks the edition and the language against the districts your patients travel from, and prints a registration number that rings the camp desk.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What newspaper advertising means
Newspaper advertising is space in a named edition of a paper on a named day, priced by the column centimetre. GullySales picks the edition and language your buyers actually read, meets the release deadline, and gives the reader somewhere to go.
Last updated 5 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.
For hospitals
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“The camp date, not the month”
A Sunday screening camp needs the insertion on Friday and Saturday in the edition around the hospital. A general advertisement in a quiet week leaves the front desk with nothing to answer.
“Editions decide which district you reach”
Orthopaedics and cardiology patients travel in from district towns as much as from the next street. The edition that lands there is a separate booking from the city one, at a separate deadline.
“What the advertisement may claim is settled first”
Outcome claims, comparisons with other hospitals and anything about a named patient sit with your medical director and the council code your doctors are registered under. The artwork is written to what they approve.
“The desk that answers is the whole report”
One number printed only in that insertion, picked up by a person who writes down the department being asked for. Print tells you nothing else.
What we do
What we deliver for hospitals.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
Edition, language and date plan
Which editions your patients come in from, in Kannada or in English, and the mornings an insertion has to land for a camp, a new machine or an opening.
Result: Space is bought where your patients live, not where the title is famous.
Camp number and registration page
A phone number and a short web address used in that advertisement and nowhere else, reaching the camp desk instead of the main board.
Result: Every call the paper produced is counted at one desk.
Artwork your medical director signs
Copy read line by line against what your doctors' council permits, then set to the column width, colour profile and file format the publication accepts.
Result: Nothing prints that a registration is at risk over.
Release schedule worked backwards
Each insertion's material cut-off fixed from the morning it has to appear, so a camp is never advertised the day after it ran.
Result: The advertisement appears on the morning it was meant for.
Source question at the registration counter
One written field at the counter, recorded against the department, so a walk-in who mentions the paper is not lost in the morning rush.
Result: Walk-ins from the camp sit in the same report as the calls.
Printed page check and reporting
A copy of the page as it ran, matched against what was booked, then registrations, calls and admissions by department set against the baseline recorded before the work started.
Result: You know which insertion filled the camp and which filled nothing.
How the result is measured
- Insertions published as booked
- Enquiries traced to the print route
- Cost per traced enquiry
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
How space is bought, and checked
What the camp desk and the medical director confirm before a hospital advertisement is booked.
- Taluk and district editions
- Take the places camp patients and their attendants come from out of the registration book. Ask the paper which edition covers each place, and book those instead of the city edition by default.
- Language the attendant reads
- The person who brings a patient reads the paper at home. Ask which language that is for each district, and have the notice written in it, not translated.
- Size for a camp notice
- A camp notice needs the date, the hours, the venue, the speciality and the registration number. Ask for the column centimetres that hold all of it in readable type and check the proof at print size.
- Late changes to the order
- Ask how late a change of venue or visiting doctor can reach the paper after booking, and what a reissue costs. A camp moved at the last minute needs a correction the same morning.
- Council rules and your director
- Advertising rules for hospitals and doctors differ by state and council and change. Have the medical director read the proof, and leave out outcome claims, comparisons and any named patient.
- Camp desk and registration code
- Print one number for the camp desk and a short web address for registration, used in this insertion alone. Ask the desk to record the department each caller asks for.

- Multi-speciality hospitals
- Single-speciality hospitals, maternity, orthopaedic or eye

- Corporate hospital chains with several branches
- Diagnostic-centre-led hospitals

Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
- You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
- You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.
How it works
From your first message to the first report.
No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.
First
Your brief
You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.
After the brief
A conversation and a written scope
We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.
Before work starts
Baseline recorded
Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.
After the baseline
The first fix goes live
The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.
As agreed
Report against the baseline
What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.
At renewal
Renew on the numbers
The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.
How the newspaper advertising work runs
- 1
Fix the date first
A launch, an admission window, an opening weekend or a notice. Everything else is planned backwards from that morning.
- 2
Choose edition, language and day
We match the edition to your catchment and the day to the section your buyer opens.
- 3
Decide size, position and the route back
Display or classified display, how many column centimetres, which page we request, and what the reader is told to call or scan.
- 4
Release the artwork early
The file goes to the publication ahead of its deadline, in the format it takes, with the position request on the order.
- 5
Verify what printed
We read the printed page against the booking and raise it if the ad ran small, late or in the wrong section.
- 6
Count what came back
Calls, scans and form fills on the traced route, reported against what that insertion cost.
Proof
What happened when owners fixed this.
Real clients, the work we did, and the result as it was recorded. Where no number was recorded, none is claimed.

- What we did
- A website for patients
- Search work
- Google Business and reviews
- Lead capture and advertising
- Result
- No numbers were recorded for this engagement. The work is described in full in the case study.

Why us
Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.
Marketing and sales, as one job
Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.
The person on the first call does the work
No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.
A baseline before anything starts
Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.
The fee in writing, split three ways
Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.
No guarantees we cannot keep
The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

Can the newspaper tell us how many patients came from the advertisement?
English daily or the Kannada one for a screening camp?
Is one insertion enough?
Can we print our doctors' names and photographs?
The paper offers a paid article about our new department. Is that different from an advertisement?
How soon would we see more admissions?
Do we need to advertise?
How much does it cost?
How long is the contract?
Who will actually do the work?
